Job Description WHAT YOU'LL DO Amsted Automotive Powder Metal Division in Geneva, IL is seeking a 2nd shift Automation Technician to perform duties to set-up, program, troubleshoot, and repair automation equipment. Shift hours are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The Automation Technician will work from instructions, prints and process specifications. Set-up all robotics and automation equipment in the plant. This includes fixtures, conveyors, grippers, pin stamper, and brush set-up to meet process specifications required to run operation, and obtaining all necessary paperwork needed. Give temporary inspection approval, pending full inspection approval on set-up prior to production run using robotic equipment. Monitor production runs for correct set-up, quality of parts, and stoppage avoidance. Obtain full inspection approvals on set-up. Understand the requirements of a properly installed and prepared tool and the impact of errors or improper setup on the robotic process Perform machine cycle and make any necessary robot program modifications Assess and troubleshoot operational errors Read and understand product briefs and process sheets to ensure accuracy in machine set up Operate HMI/MIU to optimize platen heights, install program for robots/robotics lines, and input process numbers for mold changes Understand and efficiently operate robotic pendants, controllers, and panels. The job of HVAC and Building Controls Technician is done for the purpose/s of performing skilled technical work and/or troubleshooting problems in the installation, maintenance (preventative, etc.), repair, inspection and monitoring of heating, cooling and refrigeration systems/equipment with associated plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills. Proficiency in the diagnosis and calibration of EMS control systems (Energy Management System Control). This position reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
