Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Behaviors Required: · High School Graduate or equivalent (GED). · Associates degree with a Technical focus and 7 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 10 years of experience in specific industry. · Proficiency in predictive technologies including vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment. · Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs. · Must be able to use hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate. · May be required to travel. · Six Sigma experience desired.     Description: The Electrical/Controls Technician is responsible for maintenance, proper operation, and troubleshooting of all mechanical and electrical systems on production and support equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support and manage all control components within a PLC system. Perform maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment on production and support equipment. Incorporates LOTO procedures as required by policy. Dismantles devices to gain access to impacted areas and repair/remove defective parts. Determines, by use of regular inspections, the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements if the parts are reusable, and what parts, if any need to be ordered. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments not performed by machine operators to ensure proper operation. Repairs electrical equipment within the limitations of expertise and training. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other tools to make and repair parts. Removes tools and cleans impacted work areas upon completion of work. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. Makes recommendations concerning equipment and/or procedure modifications.
