Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Instrumentation Technician C to join our teams in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will work with blueprints, schematics, technical manuals and bulletins, National Bureau of Standards, manufacturers' specifications, oral and written instructions. You will be installing instrumentation, primarily strain gauges and thermocouples on all models of Boeing aircraft civilian, military and space.
Position Responsibilities:
Receive work assignment from team leader or supervisor and obtain necessary materials and equipment
Obtain appropriate engineering drawings and test documents, as required, for assignment if drawings, sketches, and documents are not with work assignment
Fabricate wire or fiber optic bundles used to connect various types of test and computer equipment together or test sensing equipment used to monitor and measure, for the purpose of collecting and storing data during test
Set up and perform qualification test, bench test, or automatic test as required per work assignment, test document, test equipment manuals, and/or engineering instructions
Install fiber optic strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, and strain gages by soldering, bonding, spot welding, or using mechanical fastening devices
Use a scissor or boom lift to access areas for instrumentation installation this work is performed both inside hangars and outside on airfields
Perform modification of test equipment to meet engineering configuration, as required
Select proper hand, power, and/or bench tools needed to perform required operation, such as screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, crimpers, cable tools, band saw, drill press, and sander, as required
Use shop tools and any test equipment required to complete work assignment
Write tie-ins, and maintain records such as work log for areas/equipment as required
Devise and/or build shop aids and work around methods as necessary to test/troubleshoot systems
Handle and protect components and assemblies such as static sensitive equipment in accordance with shop procedures and drawing requirements
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (ketone, naphtha, alcohol, epoxy, acids) in approved manner (in accordance with Safety Data Sheets) using personal protective equipment as required
Pack electronic equipment for travel as required per drawing and Boeing applicable specifications
Check work after completion of each operation to be sure job is per drawing or other instructions
Put completed job or reworked job up for inspection as required
Contact team leader/supervisor/engineer/planner when assistance is needed (e.g. if there is questions about drawings or paperwork, if drawings and paperwork do not match, or when any other problem arises)
Maintain personal and tool certifications, as required
Comply with applicable tool control policies
Effectively accomplishing the tasks, duties and responsibilities of this job requires at least these attributes
Ability to use precision measuring tools and test equipment and interpret results
Knowledge of routing, clamping, tying, connecting and terminating wires and/or wire bundles in electrical systems and assemblies, per the appropriate electrical codes
Knowledge of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to calculate and apply advanced mathematics
Know and interpret data from a coordinate system to identify multiple axis and dimensional references (3-D)
Ability to set up and operate floor mounted hydraulic and/or mechanical operated equipment
Ability to demonstrate entry level competency in operation of PIT (Power Industrial Trucks), in a safe manner as required
Ability to safely operate various types of hand tools and/or hand-held power tools as required
Effectively communicate information
Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical systems
Operate various types of test equipment, perform testing and interpret results, as required
Knowledge of proper use, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials/chemicals, oils, coolants, and lubricants per government regulations and Boeing procedures

This position is on Naval Base Kitsap Bangor in Silverdale, WA, working in a Navy Calibration Laboratory in support of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program.
This position offers shift flexibility, company provided training, with some travel required.
In this position, you will:
Provide support for Calibration Laboratory technical processes: Provide training and technical guidance; develop training materials; develop local calibration procedures; develop uncertainty budgets/analyses; develop hardware and software proofing packages; create and revise report of calibrations; maintain National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accredited parameters; and participate in the Intra-Laboratory Comparison Program.
Provide support for Calibration Laboratory administrative processes: Perform laboratory standard Out of Tolerance Notification (OTN) analysis and dispositions; conduct review and respond to Quality audits with root cause and corrective actions; draft and/or review Calibration Problem Reports (CPR) and submit to approval authority; review and approve special calibration requests; and support Strategic Systems Programs life cycle support 5-year standards/modernization forecasting for revision or replacement of lab standards.
Provide support for development of Calibration Technicians: Submit quarterly associate technician performance reviews; conduct metrology math / suitable substitution exams with associate technicians preparing for advancement; monitor technician training depth and cross-training; and review/revise vendor training requirements.
Provide support for external organizations: Monitor and respond to shared metrology resource email inbox; support engineering Trouble Failure Inspection Rejection Reports (TFIRR); support inquiries from customers and Local Government Representatives; review controlled document revisions; represent Calibration Laboratory during SSP, NAVSEA, and other external meetings and events; and lead guided laboratory tours as requested by local SWFPAC management.

Basic Qualifications

Engineering Technician II (Job ID: 3747) Location: Silverdale, WA Remote Status: On-Site Job Id: 3747 # of Openings: 5 Engineering Technician II Purpose: * Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Engineering Technician II who will be a key support to assembling, installing equipment or parts requiring basic mechanical, electrical, wiring, soldering, or connecting skills or performing computer maintenance and operations.
* This position is located in Bremerton/Silverdale WA and on shipyards throughout the PACNORWEST area.
Job Description:
* Perform installation/removal/upgrades for electrical/electronic/IC/C4I tasks such as wiring of terminal boxes, testing, and verifying connections, performing continuity and resistance checks on cables, testing and troubleshooting.
* Perform system testing to evaluate performance and functionality.
* Use drawings, technical manuals, instructions, standards, and specifications to perform fiber optic and system installation, removal, and upgrade activities.
* Use optical test equipment along with customer wiring drawings and NAVSEA Standard items for performing in-process and final test of installed and terminated cabling assemblies.
* Understand cableway improvement and inspections.
* May perform fire watch and confined space duties.
* Perform and can demonstrate specific trade skills gained through school or proven experience.
Qualifications:
* Must have high school or equivalent. 3 to 7 YRS of experience as a Trades and Engineering Technician I. Have Cableway Improvement Certification, Multi-Pin Connector Certification.
* Must have NAVSEA fiber optic certification or ability to quickly certify in fiber optic monitorization and inspection of shipboard cable assemblies per Navy Standard Item 009-73 and MIL-STD-2042.
* Must have a thorough knowledge of power tools, shipboard operations, and NAVSEA standards.
* Must be able to complete work duties with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications:
* Prefer the ability to obtain a passport.
* Prefer the ability to communicate effectively.
* Prefer specialized qualifications such as: Fiber Fabrication, Shipyard Competent Person, Permit Authorization Individual.
Security Requirements:
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance to access public and private shipyards and Naval installations.
* Must meet REAL ID requirements for base and travel access.
Travel Requirements:
* Moderate Travel Required; 50% or less.
