What a typical day looks like:
Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability
Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are completed on a regularly scheduled basis.
Understanding of PLCs
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems.
Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions per specifications.
Through troubleshooting, identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanism.
Repairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner.
Performs preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.
Performs calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.
Assists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment.
Analyzes and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.
Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.
Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipment.
Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
+ Calibrates, installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.

+ Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures and be able to read, interpret, apply and know where to find other procedures.
+ Understand the principles of pH and redox and equipment needed to measure them and be able to control the pH and redox of a liquid.
+ Understand steam and how it reacts to different situations, (e.g. saturation properties).
+ Work with the principles of chemistry and physics required in instrumentation such as specific gravity, density of liquids and solids, mechanical advantages, proportions of liquids, melting points, freezing points, boiling points of liquids, etc.

+ Understand fundamental instrumentation loops and how they function as a loop, and what the function of each component part is in each type of loop.

Overview:
The Construction Inspector is responsible for the monitoring, inspections, and reporting of quality and performance of capital improvement projects. Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 20 lbs.
The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Ability to work outside for an extended period of time
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install vehicle parts of varying size and weight overhead, accurately and in allotted timeframes
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, platforms, or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and be alert to safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Demonstrated ability to handle and manipulate tooling and mechanically fasten bolts within required cycle time
Exposures to hazardous materials and ability to follow waste handling/disposal procedures
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
