The Bottling Controls Technician maintains the electrical and electronic aspects of bottling operations and provides technical capability to maximize production efficiency using PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Minimize equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment in a complex distributed control system. Improve bottling line efficiency through changes to automated controls. What you will do Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of HVAC Automation Systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Position Details: Title: BAS Controls Technician (Mid-Level & Senior-Level Openings) Location: Bay Area - San Francisco / San Jose Corridor Tech Stack: Tridium, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, JCI FX Union Status: Must be a member of or willing to join Local 104, 467, 342, 393, 38, or 39 Responsibilities: Install, troubleshoot, and service Building Automation (BAS/DDC) systems in commercial environments Support HVAC/BAS systems using Tridium, Distech, Metasys, and related platforms Diagnose and resolve programming issues, field controller faults, sensors, and network-level problems Work closely with clients, PMs, and field staff during commissioning and turnover Provide technical direction, maintenance assistance, and advanced problem-solving in the field PLUS: Commission databases, review alarms/trends, and ensure optimized system performance Ideal Candidate: Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara AX/N4, Distech, JCI Metasys, or JCI FX platforms Strong troubleshooting background with DDC controls and HVAC automation Comfortable in customer-facing service roles and retrofit/project-based environments Knowledge of HVAC system behavior and energy optimization concepts is beneficial About the Company: In business for 50+ years 1,000+ employees across Northern California Industries supported: Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Labs/Clean Rooms, Government, High-Tech Facilities Service Areas: Design-Build, Construction, BAS, Energy Services, Preventative Maintenance Offered Compensation & Perks: Pay Range: $35.00 - $75.00/hr (based on experience and union classification) Union Benefits: Outstanding medical, dental, vision, pension, and supplemental benefits Company Vehicle: Truck or Van + gas card Tools & Equipment: Laptop, Phone, Tools, Uniform provided Ready to advance your BAS controls career with a financially strong, technology-forward company?
