Senior Building Automation Technician Responsibilities:
Responsible for the execution/installation of building automation projects.
Develops and executes small retrofit and upgrade projects, while maintaining a universal technical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot BMS/BAS service-related calls.
Demonstrates knowledge in the commercial HVAC sequence of operation, basic computer knowledge, and building construction operations.
Responsible for system designs, installation, programming, commissioning, and operational verification.
Works with a Field Supervisor and Project Manager to schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Mentors and teaches other technicians.
Follow safety requirements as outlined GUNTHERS.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generates reports
Provides exceptional customer service.
Completes any additional tasks as outlined by supervisors.
Senior Building Automation Technician Qualifications:
5+ years of experience required.
Expert with Commercial Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems including the various components and processes. (Service background preferred).
Proficient understanding of computers, electronics, and electrical circuits and how they work together.
Knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations.
Engineering and programming (PLC or BMS) background helpful. Tridium N4 Certification Preferred.
Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances.

Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) in one or more of the following disciplines - Acoustical, Chemical, Dimensional, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Fluid, Mechanical, Optical, Thermodynamics, and Time & Frequency, in order to ensure compliance with published specifications
Maintain primary and/or intrinsic calibration standards
Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards

Develop calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements
Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration.

Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable
Prepare calibration reports and certificates
Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements tasks for which they are not principally used
Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes
Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures
Interact with other technicians, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, and customers

About this Role
Advanced Electric Systems is looking for relay, apparatus, and transformer substation testing technicians who are willing to travel on a regular basis throughout the US. Our traveling schedules are flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual technician.
This would require 90% travel.
What You'll Do
Test, troubleshoot, and inspect various complex electrical systems.
Operate various types of electrical test equipment including but not limited to Doble, Manta, Vanguard, Omicron.
Communicate with various relays (SEL, Multilin, Basler)
Interface with software such as DTA, Protection Suite, Enoserve/RTS, PTM, and Accelerator.
Maintain intermediate to a high level of understanding of protection and control schemes, concepts & prints.
Perform acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning testing of various electrical power apparatus including Circuit Breakers, Transformers, Instrument Transformers, Grounding Systems, SF6 Interrupters, Meters, Relays, Motor Control Centers, Battery Bans & SCADA Systems.
Read electrical drawings, including block diagrams, three lines, single lines, DC/AC schematics & logic diagrams.
Write test reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Maintain strong client relationships.
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical circuits.
Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
