Experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI), control systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron) and control components.
Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics including knowledge of redlining schematics for updates.
Experience in wiring electrical control panels or equipment remote actuators and inputs and outputs as well plumbing equipment, pneumatic or/and hydraulic lines.
Experience in validating new equipment capability, repeatability and capacity prior to introduction to the production floor.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the incumbent is highly experienced in industrial programming, instrumentation, and electrical trades. They must continually elicit a high standard of safety performance for themselves. The PLC Technician 3 must be proficient in all aspects of the mill control systems and instrumentation.
The incumbent is responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance for the control systems in the mill, powerhouse, and waste treatment. They must possess a high degree of technical aptitude and in-depth knowledge of manufacturing process controls and instrumentation systems. The incumbent must stay abreast of new technologies and work with the engineering group with planning and implementing new capital projects within their area of expertise.
They must demonstrate a solid understanding of mill processes and how the control systems impact the process. They must be able to access all control systems, troubleshoot, and make programming changes without any oversight. The incumbent is capable of taking high level concepts from their customers and implementing those within their respective area.
They must also be fully proficient and display and advanced level in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, preventive maintenance work, and routine equipment repairs and overhauls with no oversight.

Job Summary
The Engineering Technician will have a “process improvement and ownership attitude” to provide process leadership and support of overall plant objectives. This individual will have input in numerous improvements within the business including support of production assembly.

Assist in improving business processes by utilizing continuous improvement tools and methodologies

Essential Job Functions
Develop, evaluate, and improve business processes utilizing knowledge of lean office/manufacturing tools and methodologies
Access and generate measurement and assessment tools enabling operational and continuous improvement leaders to evaluate potential areas for formal Continuous Improvement efforts
Recommend, support and implement improvements, modifications, or additions that will improve business processes
Propose potential new manufacturing/business technologies, including new equipment or business systems
Assist with mapping business process flow, document inputs and outputs. Identify areas for improvement
Assist in the development, maintenance and monitoring of improvement project plans
Monitor process improvement initiatives to ensure new processes are working as intended
Assist in continuous Improvement events (e.g., kaizen events, A3 projects, major project teams, etc.)
Coach and train team members to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture

Requirements

• Responsible to monitor, inspect, setup, calibrate, and maintain manufacturing process equipment
• Research and identify manufacturing or engineering solutions
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including but not limited to, machining, injection molding, laser processing, stamping, or packaging
• Assist engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes
• Inspect products and processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement
• Conduct tests and collect data in support of validation activities
• Utilize and uses computer-aided design and drafting software
• Develops production drawings for manufacturing
• Reads and complies with work instructions, set up sheets, and checklists
• Enters production information into the ERP system on a timely basis
• Generate ECO/DCO and process documentation changes related to manufacturing changes, such as work instruction changes, print changes, documentation updates, etc.
• Perform equipment set-ups as required
• Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
• Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
• Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
Qualifications
• 3 years of experience working as an engineering technician
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices & Quality Systems Regulations is desirable
• Medical product experience
• Must have good communication and documentation skills
• Must have problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Working knowledge of CAD software platforms AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro-E experience is desired.
• Ability to cross train in other areas of production when required
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to prioritize and multitask

Pay Range USD $24.66 - USD $35.72 /Hr. Pay Range Details
This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
