Salary Information This position is in pay schedule/range 05-31 with starting base pay of $34.67/hour. Future increases will be in accordance with the Compensation Plan, and are currently scheduled at intervals of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. Differential pay is available for certain night and weekend shifts, and employees may be eligible for FLSA premium overtime. A twelve-month probationary period is required. New employees must become State Certified Corrections Officers from the Illinois Training Board. The criteria for certification are two hundred (200) hours of academy training, fifteen (15) hours of more advanced training that includes the Law regarding Corrections, Human Growth and Development, and Prison Organizations. Must pass a one (1) week Direct Supervision class. Candidates who successfully complete the written test will be given further information on the testing process.
