The Data Center Estimator is an active technical member of Vision's Estimating team, participating in pre-sales activities as required to generate business. Providing sales support for account managers in new, qualified business opportunities, the Data Center Estimator is responsible for the preparation of material takeoffs and labor estimates on small to medium size projects. This person processes detailed breakdowns of components and elements of estimates for systems. Administration as required including but not limited to various Pre-Sales, Planning, Implementation, and Closing Activities as identified below.
Responsibilities
Interface with distributors and manufacturers to negotiate competitive pricing and strategic advantages with our supply chain.
Develop Labor & Material estimates (BOL/BOM) for each opportunity.
Participate with management and sales team to develop a winning strategy on proposals and quotations.
Accurately generate take-offs and spreadsheets for estimates

Generate a price comparison spreadsheet and populate the estimates with the best price.
Set up and run peer checks, P&L reviews, and support capture meetings.
Conduct Labor & Material Estimate (BOL/BOM) Reviews with Business Unit Manager
Participate in post-award handoff meetings, coordinating with Sales, PMO, Procurement, Partners, and any other necessary resources.
Channel & Manufacturers
Obtain vendor certifications.
Meet with vendor reps to develop a relationship for technical unity, best-selling practices, competitive pricing schemes, the latest in innovation and marketplace direction

Job Summary: The Project Estimator is responsible for managing the pre-sales pipeline and creating project cost estimates involving engineering, designing, and building fiber / telecommunication networks. In addition, this can include estimating subcontractor and material supplier's costs.

Responsibilities
We are seeking an Estimator with a construction, miscellaneous metal, or fabrication shop experience to help us with project inquires, estimating and pre-construction. You will be working with architects, general contractors, and installers to answer construction technical questions regarding our product systems.

Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of estimating in construction, miscellaneous metal, or fabrication
Must be able to review complex architecture drawings in AutoCAD, technical documents and create a “take-off”, with measurements and other specifications to submit for a project estimate
Ability to read Revit and Solid Works drawings is a big plus
Must be excellent with numbers and proficient in Excel
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be able to work directly with architects, contractors, and sub-contractors to quickly find technical solutions
Knowledge of sheet metal or manufacturing process a plus
