The ideal candidate must be capable of assembling an accurate estimate and a corresponding detailed proposal for the customer with minimal oversight. With our geographic footprint expanding, this position could be based in any of our locations and /or a remote based position. Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Be able to accurately identify, quantify and record piping and equipment associated with the various mechanical systems Review all bid documents and seek clarifications during the bid process to ensure an accurate bid is assembled Budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, general code compliance and an understanding of general layout of Plumbing, Piping and HVAC Duct Systems Concurrently bid/manage multiple projects. Create a detailed estimate with appropriate material, labor & subcontractor selections; alternates and unit pricing when required; and corresponding proposal to identify the bidder's work scope Survey potential projects and identify best solutions for pricing Evaluation of vendor and subcontractor proposal to ensure compliance with the job requirements and specifications Estimating HVAC and plumbing projects and change orders to comply with corporate profit guidelines and project requirements Provide conceptual design and pricing to support conceptual design for both HVAC and plumbing Complete system take-offs in accordance with current B&K processes. Consider and evaluate potential value engineering options and costs with the B&K team Develop project general conditions and other estimate scope summaries, schedules and/or other tools and deliverables as necessary Participate when necessary in bid finalization and review Supervisory / Budgetary / External communications responsibilities This is an individual contributing role. Internal and external communication responsibility to the appropriate contacts. Knowledge, skill and ability requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance) Proficiency in pipe takeoff software such as Quickpen / Autobid is beneficial Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills Consistent dependability and availability Ability to work in a fast-paced construction office environment Ability to organize and curate documents related work orders and personnel Aptitude to learn new systems Mechanical Knowledge Project Management Prior work experience and educational requirements BSME in Engineering/HVAC or Construction Business Management is preferred Communication, relationship building and customer service Proficient in MS Word and Excel and assembling a detailed quote Work in an open/team environment and have the ability to work independently Strong multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills Physical Demands The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical office environment and miscellaneous filed travel.
