In this developmental role, Trainees will perform basic laborer functions on the crew while learning to become responsible for the following tasks.
* Ensures laborers report for work on time and in compliance with all policies regarding appearance and being "fit for work".

Operate asphalt plant - automated drum and batch plant systems - operations are controlled through automated computer systems and control boards.
Communicate with quality control personnel to ensure specifications are met and adjust mix formulas and production to do so.
Monitor plant status, adjust plant as needed, load out material onto dump trucks, dispatch trucks.
Communicate with internal paving crews and project teams as well as external customers and adjusts production to maximize profits, minimize waste, maintain or improve quality,
Ensure customer satisfaction through quality and customer service.
Keep plant running at optimal performance to avoid downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your co-workers. Participate in safety discussions and support the company's vision on safety.
Schedule production needs for the following day and adjust schedule for current day.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly documentation and reporting as needed
Plan the following day's production plan and order raw materials.
Assist in preventative maintenance on the plant, scheduled repairs, and breakdown repairs. Focus on eliminating downtime and provide innovative solutions to do so. Perform winter maintenance repairs on plant.
Assist as an equipment operator as needed - during production a CAT 980 or 966 Loader is operated to feed raw materials into cold feed/recycle bins and maintain/manage stockyard. We also operate manlifts, material handlers, skid steers, and forklifts, among other pieces of equipment. Training and evaluation occurs before operation of any of these pieces of equipment. The equipment operator is responsible for pre-shift inspections of equipment and helping to maintain the equipment.

Requires basic mechanical skills and basic knowledge of computers.
Mobile or stationary equipment experience is beneficial as is experience in the manufacturing or construction industries.

Responsibilities
Hiring for the 2026 Construction Season
Allan Myers is seeking experienced CDL B Dump Truck Drivers to support site work, grading, mass excavation, mainline pipe installation, processed water projects, milling operations, and paving operations in heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate has at least two (2) years of safe dump truck driving experience and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in hauling operations.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, stone, asphalt, and milling debris between job sites.
Support grading, excavation, mainline pipe installation, processed water, milling, and paving operations by hauling materials as needed.
Load and unload materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to legal load limits.
Follow assigned haul routes and traffic laws, adhering to company safety policies and DOT regulations.
Inspect trucks daily for safety and mechanical issues, performing basic maintenance checks.
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, equipment operators, and project teams.
Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and material loads.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience operating a CDL B dump truck in heavy civil construction.
Valid CDL B license with a clean driving record; CDL A is a plus.
Experience hauling materials for site work, grading, excavation, mainline pipe, processed water, milling, or paving projects preferred.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, weight limits, and truck safety procedures.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adapt to various weather conditions.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities
:
Demonstrates technical proficiency in multiple aspects of one of the following work processes (i.e., bridge, highway, excavation, pipe, concrete or paving, grading, mechanical and/or other relevant disciplines).
Has a complete understanding of the plan details and specifications of assigned projects including the estimate, man-hour budget and production rates.
Plans and organizes work to maximize potential crew productivity. Establishes work plans and staffing plans for each phase of the project. Communicates performance expectations for productivity, quality, and safety to crews and monitors progress to ensure schedule and financial goals are met.
Supervises field managers for assigned projects and plans/schedules manpower and equipment as needed. Mentors/coaches field managers in leading their crews. Maximizes equipment utilization levels and schedules field personnel assignments.
Reviews job cost with Project Manager, Field Manages and implements adjustments as needed.
Follows the Allan Myers Safety Program including preplanning to identify conditions and exposures, proper safety and personal protective equipment and accident investigation and reporting.
Coordinates and collaborates with Field Managers, other Superintendents, and the customer to implement successful project plans. Maintains professional relationships with the owner, engineer and other members of the construction team.
Inspects construction work as necessary to ensure quality requirements and standards are met.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required (equivalent work experience will be considered)
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred (continuing education in construction highly desirable)
Minimum 6 years of heavy civil construction experience with at least 2 years of Superintendent experience required
Experience in multiple trade disciplines preferred
OSHA 30 hour certification required (those not having this credential must certify or be enrolled in a certification course within 6 months of hire/promotion)
Valid driver's license required
