Essential Functions:
- Performs heavy cleaning duties such as clean plant equipment using compressed air and other methods.
- Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop.
- Dispose of trash, clean up spills, replace air fresheners, change out light bulbs, lock doors, paint, maintain water coolers, prepare facilities for events such as meetings or banquets.

Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 12:30am shift
The hourly rate for this position starts at $16.50 - 22.00, plus shift differential. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Ultralife buildings and surrounding grounds by performing cleaning duties and routine maintenance activities.
Essential Functions*:
Perform routine to heavy custodial duties for general building maintenance.
Perform sweeping, scrubbing and waxing of floors and stairwells.
Perform vacuuming and cleaning of carpets.
Maintain and clean restrooms, drinking fountains and break room areas in a sanitary manner and restock with appropriate supplies.
Remove trash, waste and recyclable items from inside the building and on the grounds outside.
Clean windows, window coverings and woodwork.
Maintain walkways, grounds and roadways during all seasons. ie. Snow removal, landscaping.
Operate cardboard baler.
Set up and remove equipment for meetings and other activities.
Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify manager concerning safety hazards or the need for major repairs.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Overtime as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Education / Training / Skills / Experience:
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience in custodial/janitorial.
Valid Driver's license
Must be able to read and understand operating instructions for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Experience with fire controls and automation systems preferred
Experience with hazardous material handling preferred.
High level of initiative and strong work ethic.
Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds.
Must be able to frequently push/pull 25 pounds.
Must be able to grip 10 pounds.
Must be able to stand and walk continually (majority of shift).
Must be able to frequently bend and reach.
Must be able to occasionally climb ladders and stairs.
Must be able and willing to operate snow thrower and shovel, and spread snow melting chemicals.
Must be able to operate floor cleaning equipment, requiring hand coordination.
Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and other solvents.
Must be able to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.

Job Summary and Essential Job Duties:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the Optimax facility. Candidate must be willing to work alongside maintenance department to achieve departmental goals.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), optical manufacturing technicians will:
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, cleans, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Dusts and washes walls, cleans overhead equipment, such as pipes, ceilings, light fixtures, air ducts, etc.
Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
Keeps lavatories clean and supplied.
Performs a variety of housekeeping jobs.
Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Will work alongside Maintenance department.
Advancement through the ranks is attained via increasing levels of education, experience, industrial skills, math skills, computing skills, responsibility and leadership potential and effectiveness.
Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical training and prior experience working in industrial settings is preferred but not required.
