Your Role as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
We are looking for a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team and provide high-quality care for our residents. The CMA plays a crucial role in ensuring proper medication administration and assisting residents with daily living activities in a home-like environment.
What You'll Do:
Administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain accurate medical records under the supervision of licensed staff
Verify resident identity before medication administration and document medication dosage and time

Examples of Duties
Essential Function Examples
Assist physicians in patient examinations by organizing and arranging instruments, leading patients into examination rooms and checking and recording patients' height, weight and temperature.
Collect and test specimens of body fluids and wastes to advise physician of possible conditions.
Prepare instruments for sterilization and operate in-house sterilization equipment.
Complete routine medical records and reports, provide basic patient information and instruction and perform other routine tasks to assist in the provision of good patient care.
Clean and stock exam rooms daily.
Provide limited counseling on STI/HIV prevention and risk reduction.
Maintain inventory of medical supplies.
Performs delegated duties from RN (Registered Nurse).

Equivalent to completion of a one-year training program at an accredited school for Medical Assistants.

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
