The Senior Product Design Engineer will identify customer needs through face-to-face interaction and play a critical role in developing the product solution. The Senior Product Design Engineer will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions with both on-site and remote teams. Position Responsibilities Managing, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams Supporting software and hardware testing Supporting and facilitating engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration Leading engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration Supporting the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintained Ensuring quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manuals Providing support and delivering solutions for rapid development projects Modifying and updating requirements documents Coordinating preparation of design drawings including updates Supporting and facilitating project scheduling Job Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related field At least 7 years working as a Product Designer demonstrating powerful design thinking in both interaction and experience design At least 5 years of systems engineering and networking experience Defense Project Management Experience interfacing directly with customers for networking architecture solutions and product integration solutions Proven understanding of the end-to-end design process, including research, prototyping, usability testing Experience with complex systems development, evaluation and requirements capture Experience with electrical and mechanical interface requirements Experience in risk analysis and progress reporting Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of systems engineering and networking experience Experience with Embedded Linux Knowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfaces Experience in electromagnetic capability (EMC) testing and design Knowledge of military certification/qualification testing Experience with enclosure/packaging design for hardware The base pay for this role can vary from $165,000 to $210,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
