Basic Qualifications:
-Engineering student, undergrad or masters.

The current Medical Malpractice Data Collection System (MMDCS), developed in 2002, is an outdated system which places a high burden on DOH staff and the claim reporters, requiring large numbers of staff to manually enter data into the system.
· The Department of Health has a need to readdress the processes, and systems involved in the reporting of Medical Malpractice claims. A new comprehensive system to track all malpractice claims and related data needs to be designed and implemented. The system needs to support centralized intake to employ consistent investigation criteria and permit the automated identification of duplicative entries. The system needs to allow for prompt research and retrieval of accurate information from stakeholders, and to allow DOH to accurately report out on the data that is collected.
Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:

SMC is actively looking for a ICT Designer to execute telecommunications design for mission critical projects. Typical project types may include design of greenfield and brownfield data center facilities, design of fit-out packages for hyperscale and enterprise clients of colocation providers, data center campus planning, conceptual designs and feasibility studies, and other mission critical applications such as command-and-control centers.
This candidate shall be capable of executing basic telecommunications design projects independently, taking established design criteria through generation of design plans and specifications for permitting and construction. The candidate shall also be capable as serving as a key contributor in part of a larger telecommunications design team on large and/or complex mission critical projects under the guidance of a senior engineer. The telecommunications design scope will be a part of a broader project and therefore this candidate should be capable of interfacing with design leads within SMC (mechanical, electrical, A/V) as well as externally including architectural, civil, structural, etc.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable mentoring recent graduates and junior designers and engineers, reviewing the work of others, and collaborating with senior engineers to implement broad project goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This candidate will have the opportunity to execute telecommunications design of various project types while working and coordinating with clients and design leads from all disciplines, as well as serve as the daily lead on smaller projects. This candidate shall have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and with clients while being able to meet scheduled project deadlines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design telecommunications infrastructure for mission critical buildings and campuses including outside plant infrastructure, inside plant cabling, cable tray and conduit conveyance systems, telecommunications space layouts, telecommunications bonding network systems, rack elevations, wireless access point layouts, and communications for MEP controls/monitoring systems.
Produce complete sets of construction drawings suitable for stamping and submission utilizing Autodesk Revit.
Working knowledge of Telecommunications standards, including but not limited to TIA, BICSI, and UL.
Coordinate with all disciplines for required telecommunication interfaces.
Editing, and understanding of Division 27 Specifications.
Coordinate power requirements with internal or external electrical engineers.
Be capable of reviewing and understanding client standards, design criteria, applicable standards, and best practices in order to apply them to a design project.
Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to clients for telecommunications design and all aspects of Division 27.
Understand local and national construction codes and project specifications.
Have experience with the use of Microsoft tools such as Word, Power Point, Excel, and Teams.
Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
Have the ability to travel when required to project sites (less than 10% travel).

COMPENSATION

The Role: Founding Designer
As our first full-time designer, you will:
Own All Things Design
Define the end-to-end user experience for products we'll be iterating on.

Position Overview:
The Visual Supervisor provides solutions to store specific visual and merchandising challenges using brand standards and corporate visual guidelines to maintain brand integrity. The objective of this project is to develop the internal layout and design the mechanical structure of a high-voltage, high-power converter. The conceptual design of the converter including the submodules architecture and components specifications has been already developed. GE Vernova is looking to develop the hardware assembly, design the internal supporting structure, and design a pressurized gas-insulated container to host the overall internal assembly.
In this project, the intern will evaluate different options to organize the internal layout of the converter. The intern will develop the packaging of the submodule valves, design the mechanical support system and take into consideration the insulation system for the appropriate operating voltage. The intern is expected to perform 2D and 3D Finite Element modeling to optimize internal layout of the converter for minimum volume, weight, dielectric stresses, short-circuit forces and adequate seismic withstand.

Project Outcomes:
The project will allow to optimize the design of future high voltage power converters, reduce their weight, volume and footprint for easy deployment to site. Indeed, higher power dense converters could be preassembled at factory, transported along highways without special permit and drop shipped to site, thereby eliminating substations construction and reducing their costs. This will allow a faster adoption of high voltage direct current transmission
(HVDC) which is hindered today by the high costs of HVDC station costs. HVDC transmission is considered to be one of the most viable solutions for the grid expansion, required for the forecasted demand from datacenters and for the electrification and decarbonization of the economy.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum GPA 4.0 / 5.0 scale.

The pay for this position ranges from $1,000 to 2,000 weekly based on years of graduate field of study completed.
This position is also eligible for:
Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
