Position Requirements
Sunstate is a proud Second Chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case-by-case basis.
You should have a minimum of 2 or more years of experience as a dieselmechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment.
Intermediate experience with major & minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel and gas engines on construction equipment.
Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing equipment repairs.
Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs.
Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
Diesel laptop experience is preferred.
Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.

Job Description
The Fleet Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties.
What your day will look like:
* Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment
* Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components
* Perform emergency roadside services as needed
* Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory
* Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system

Diesel Apprentice Program Details: The Apprentice Program is competency-based, meaning there is no set time for the program to last. During this time, the following tools will be utilized to support the on-the-job learning experience:
Competency List - The Competency list will show what you have completed and what you still need to learn.
Internal Training - “In-house” training led by competent mechanics while you are in the program.
Manufacturer Training - You will have the opportunity, schedule willing, to attend manufacturer training.
Mentoring - You will always work under a mentor or senior mechanic. This person will help you learn and understand the trade and the industry.
Reviews - You will schedule quarterly reviews with your leadership team. This will give you the time to review your performance and achievements.
Once you have completed all of the competencies and completed 144 hours of classroom training per year, you will be promoted out of the Apprentice Program.
What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Per MSHA and Vulcan standards, take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation at all times.
Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment operating throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
Inspect Equipment and Materials. Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
Handle and Move Objects. Safely handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools throughout the shop and plant.
Document and Record Information. Ensure that correct and accurate documentation regarding all mobile equipment is completed daily and monthly. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Qualifications Skills You'll Need:

**Job Duties**
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
+ Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
+ Maintain a service van and its inventory.
+ Process paperwork after completion of each job.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Less than 2 years related experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
+ Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
+ Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
+ Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment.
+ Industry related training is preferred
+ Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through

Job responsibilities include:
Repairing and maintaining both piston and turbine powered propeller-driven aircraft.
Aircraft inspection and troubleshooting of resulting aircraft “squawks” leading to appropriate repairs / solutions. These include airframe, powerplant, and other mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues as required.

The skill to inspect and examine aircraft components, including de-icing systems, hydraulic systems and landing gear, for leaks, cracks, breaks or other issues
The ability to read and utilize blueprints, maintenance manuals, ATA codes, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring / testing instruments.
Good mechanical and mathematical ability including the ability to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints and schematics.
Good organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task, plan, and manage time effectively.
Good verbal and written communication skills, both within the company and with customer logbooks and other correspondence.
Demonstrated experience working as a team including communicating with all levels of a diverse workforce.
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
The ability to work independently, without regular supervision.
Keep detailed records of the inspections performed, repairs finished, maintenance procedures and ordered parts
