Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Maintenance and Repair
Make full use of all technical support resources, including operator, parts, vehicle diagnostic analyzer, and maintenance manuals, to troubleshooting, establishing procedures, and pinpoint necessary repair part
Interpret and understand blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics to diverse trucks, trailers and other equipment.
Proficient in the use of common hand tools, cordless power tools, torches, welders, and grinders.
Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a must
Perform proper lock-out/tag-out of equipment.
Perform tasks on various equipment types, encompassing truck-mounted hydraulic aerial platforms, digger derricks, and cranes
Find cost-efficient ways of making repairs to the fleet, including repairs on mowers, trailers, generators, and hydraulic systems
Maintain an on-site fuel station with minimal interruption or downtime

Respond to emergency roadside/field repairs
Data Entry and Administrative Tasks
Submitting requisitions to obtain a PO for approval on required parts and repairs
Ensuring other equipment records and maintenance plans such as mowers, trailers, generators, forklifts and hydraulic systems are maintained
Coordinate fleet service requests so that minimal downtime and impact to operators
Enter detailed analysis of repairs made for each job to include applicable costs from outside vendors
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge in managing fleet repairs and maintenance
Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and making repairs on vehicles, mowers, trailers, generators, and hydraulic systems

Job Description
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, performing, and evaluating all service and repair activities of equipment, related tools, and vehicles in a safe, timely, and cost efficient manner; perform related work as required.
Skills:
Repairs, replaces, and/or performs preventative maintenance on engines, equipment and tools;
Job Duties:
- Troubleshoots mechanical systems including fuel, electrical, brakes, charging system, A/C, hydraulics, engine cooling, transmission, drive lines, engine, and smog;
- Identifies system components, determines component failure, and isolates components in a system;
- Read and understands complex mechanical schematics;
- Remove, replace, and/or repair system components as needed;
- Repair / rebuild hydraulic systems including cylinder/valves, hoses, and piping;
- Performs major and minor mechanical repairs on all company-owned equipment including brakes, suspension, engine repair/rebuild, repair mechanical systems, gears, belt drives, electrical, welding, custom fabrication, and component swap;
- Repair, replace, and/or perform preventative maintenance on engines, equipment, and tools;
- Conduct mechanical diagnostics, equipment repair, and safety inspections of various systems including brakes, suspension, electrical and hydraulic, diesel, gas, 2-cycle, and 4-cycle motors, as well as on-road and off-road equipment;
- Works with crew to maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventory;
- Works with crew to maintain the shop, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion;
- Demonstrate efficient improvement of light-duty landscape equipment (e.g.,3 wheelers, compactors, power brooms), heavy-duty landscape equipment (e.g., trenchers, skid steers, chain saws), and related tools;
- Be able to rely on manufacturer diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, the internet, and specifications to guide proper troubleshooting, repair, or replacement;
- Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments;
- Bed able to supply reviews / equipment reports;
- Complete a weekly operational evaluation on machinery to identify potential areas needing repair;
- Determine course of action required for repair/service and establish a timeline needed to complete;
- Be able to develops a list of parts needed and source from local supplier;
- lubricate and cleans parts / equipment on a weekly basis;
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and performance goals;
- Ensure that all safety laws, policies, and practices are met;
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards;
- Maintain service logs and records of preventative maintenance for all equipment;
- Demonstrate professional understanding of hazardous substances, PPE, and OSHA compliance;
- Provide excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to work-site crews, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform oil and filter changes on a variety of vehicles following manufacturer and dealership standards.
Conduct multi-point inspections, checking fluid levels, belts, hoses, tires, and other key systems.
Rotate and balance tires as needed.
Top off fluids (coolant, transmission, windshield washer, brake, power steering).
Check and replace air filters, cabin filters, and wiper blades when required.
Communicate inspection results and additional service recommendations to Service Advisors.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service bay and work area.
Properly dispose of used oil, filters, and other materials according to environmental regulations.
Ensure tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.
Follow all dealership safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Provide excellent customer service by treating vehicles and customer property with care.
Assist other technicians as needed and support overall shop workflow.
