Responsibilities:
* Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
* Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
* Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
* Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
* Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
* Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.
* Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
* Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
* Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction

Job Description
Truck Centers, Inc. is growing, and we're looking for Service Technicians and Certified DieselMechanics at all experience levels to join our team. As a Diesel Technician, you play a crucial role in our Service department, helping keep our customers on the road by delivering top-notch repairs and maintenance.
Shift:
This position will work 3:30pm-midnight, Monday-Friday with a Saturday rotation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Perform consistent, high-quality work according to OEM, warranty, and dealership standards.
Read repair orders, observe and listen to vehicle operation, obtain diagnostics information, identify root cause malfunctions, plan work procedures, and perform necessary repairs on a vehicle as authorized.
Tackle general and major repairs across various truck systems, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, HVAC, electronics, and more.
Document your diagnostic findings, repair progress, and completed work thoroughly to keep our customers informed and ensure smooth warranty processing.
Work closely with the Parts department to verify parts and collaborate with the Shop Foreman and Service Administration team for status updates or assistance.
Ensure every repair meets quality standards by performing checks and road tests to confirm the issue is resolved.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required
Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred; Class A CDL highly preferred
Certificate from a diesel tech training school or a minimum of 4 years mechanical medium- or heavy-duty truck service experience in a shop setting or military installation
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and commitment to providing quality work
Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
Candidates must have their own tools; TCI provides specialty and OEM-required tooling for on-site, communal use

Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking to hire Automotive Mechanics. The successful candidate will under direct supervision, perform skilled mechanical work in the preventative maintenance and repair of all vehicles including heavy and highway equipment utilized by eight (8) construction crews performing highway repairs throughout the state on awarded projects of the Day Labor Section.
Essential Functions
* Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and reconditions various types of heavy gasoline and diesel-powered construction equipment including cranes, motor graders, tractors end-loaders, bituminous distributors, air compressors, pumps, automobiles, and trucks.
* Rebuilds brake systems, repairs truck bodies and frames, and steam cleans areas in need of inspection or repair.
* Repairs and rebuilds air hammers, drills, chain saws, and other small equipment.
* Drives a truck to make service calls on equipment being used on field construction projects to perform preventative maintenance or repairs.
* Utilizes a forklift truck to load and/or unload heavy items.
* Prepares time reports and work orders that include labor and repair parts in detail.
* Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school, or coursework in vehicle repair and maintenance, or completion of an approved training course.

This equipment includes road graders, bulldozers, end loaders, backhoes, wheeled excavators, cranes, dump trucks over 2 1/2 Tons, and snowplows, as well as light equipment including trucks under 2 1/2 tons, automobiles, and small construction equipment. The work includes: engine tune-ups, equipment adjustments, lubrication, filter, belt, hose, light wiring and tire replacement, cleaning, parts replacement and repair, and major engine and transmission overhauls. Daily work is assigned by the Fleet Maintenance Manager and any problems are referred to the Manager for assistance. The work is accomplished in the garage or in the field (roadside) as conditions dictate. The position is responsible for other duties as assigned by the Fleet Maintenance Manager. This incumbent is supervised by the Fleet Maintenance Manager and generally works alone on assigned tasks.
Requirements
The incumbent shall have a minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment as well as experience with cars, pickups, and other light duty pieces of equipment. The incumbent is also required to have his/her own hand tools. The incumbent should possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement and must be a successful participant in the department's Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. The incumbent must successfully complete a general and criminal background screening recognizing that extra precaution is necessary due to contact with law enforcement and emergency services vehicles.

Diagnose and make repairs to gasoline and diesel powered heavy construction equipment and trucks, as well as light equipment including trucks under 2 1/2 tons, automobiles, and small construction equipment for the county fleet. * Assemble engine components and/or assemblies.
* Final release process - checking product for compliance.
* Reads technical specifications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies.
* Complete relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy.
* Closely adhere to all company safety, FAA, and any other regulations, as applicable.
Position Requirements:
* Must be authorized to work in the US.
* Minimum of 2 years aviation experience on Hawker, Falcon, Bombardier, and/or Gulfstream.
* A current/valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License is required.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities in an organized manner.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A $20,000 SIGN ON BONUS
Salary: $30.40 to $37.76
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, StandardAero considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

**Job Duties**
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
+ Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
+ Maintain a service van and its inventory.
+ Process paperwork after completion of each job.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Less than 2 years related experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
+ Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
+ Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
+ Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment.
+ Industry related training is preferred
+ Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through
