**Job Description:**
Seeking a reliable Mechanic Journeyman to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include EV, Hybrid, diesel and gasoline. Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
+ Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
+ Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
+ Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
+ Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks

**Requirements**

+ Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location's need.

DUTIES:

* Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
* Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
* Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
* Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
* Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.
* Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
* Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
* This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
* A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
* Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.

Qualification Standards Include:
Minimum 1-5 years technical training or experience in mechanical repair of material handling equipment, construction/farm equipment, automobiles/trucks is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable
Valid clean driver's license
Able to work OT hours if needed beyond scheduled work hours of M-F 8am-4:30pm.
Able to work independently.
Safely operate hand and power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and material handling equipment.
Must have the ability to perform strenuous and heavy work; exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.

DUTIES

· Participate and complete all-in company required safety training.

REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years' experience in a related field
· Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
· OEM training and certifications are preferred.

· This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.

Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify issues
Communicate with Service Advisors regarding needed repairs, timelines, and cost estimates
Complete warranty repairs to manufacturer standards
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Stay current with training and manufacturer updates
Qualifications
Ability to commute to 1479 Genesee St, Oneida, NY 13421 required
5+ years of automotive Service Technician experience
Ford certification preferred; ASE certification
NY State Inspector License required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with ability to use diagnostic equipment
Positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Pay & Benefits
Pay: $35 - $40 per hour, based on experience
