As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. The Shop Diesel Mechanic/Technician is responsible for performing mechanical repairs in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
Performs PM's and oil changes.
Greases trucks and trailers.
Performs tire services.
Performs CSA/DOT inspections.
Performs service calls and night call outs.
Conducts intermediate to Advance Electrical repair and diagnoses cause of failures.
Completes intermediate to Advance Wheel End repair (S-cam/bushing replacement, spindle repairs, race and bearing replacement, wheel seals, ETC.)
Performs intermediate air system repair (Basic diagnostics, tank replacement, air bags, leveling valves, dash valves, etc.)
Conducts basic HVAC repair (evacuate & recharge, verifies cause of failure).
Completes basic coolant repairs (thermostat, water pump, hoses, fittings, radiator, etc.)
Performs basic welding
Conducts basic starting/charging (batteries, alternators, starters, etc.) and diagnostics.
Completes basic engine repair (belts, tensioners, pulleys).
Performs basic steering/suspension (shocks, reservoirs, filters, alignment, etc.)
Performs basic drivetrain and transmission repairs clutch adjustments, U-joints, carrier bearings, etc.)
Maintains cleanliness of shop and keeps free of clutter
Ensures all service equipment (jacks, tools, trucks) are in good working order, clean, and properly repaired when needed.
Ensures all parts, tires, etc., are properly put away
Completes work orders by providing the necessary customer information, labor performed, parts used, and any other information for warranty purposes.
Ensures total customer satisfaction and the integrity of Bosselman.
Practices and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.
Completes OSHA Skills Demonstration within the first week of employment.
Stays current on all LMS training.
Provides friendly and competent customer service.
Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):
Tire Service Certified by TIA within 18 months of employment
Air Brake Certification.
DOT Medical Card required at Boss Shops.
Two years minimum experience as a dieseltechnician
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and be insurable to drive.
Complete brake training.
Complete wheel seal training.
Ability to attend HVAC, Electrical and DOT training.
Ability to get ASE, DOT, TIA and other certifications.
Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
Must have reliable transportation and phone.
Must be able to communicate in English. - IF APPLICABLE

Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Position requires you to repair and maintain heavy construction and agricultural equipment, electric, propane, CNG, diesel lift trucks and customer equipment. Qualified applicants will have a mechanical background. Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel repair and maintenance is required. Accepting applicants with background in heavy, agriculture or construction equipment. Recent graduates from technical schools with education in automotive and/or diesel repair are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will involve primarily working on Construction and Agricultural equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair, diagnose, inspect, and maintain all material handling and construction and agricultural equipment for customer work orders assigned to you.
Accepts repair orders as assigned by Service Writer.
Primarily servicing construction and agricultural equipment.
Communicate with customer(s) on diagnosed repairs suggested or required for repair and obtains customer approvals.
Reads work orders, observes and listens to truck in operation to determine/diagnose malfunction or problem(s).
Offers solutions to meet customer specifications.
Provides estimates when appropriate.
Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the customer/Service Manager.
Obtains necessary parts working cooperatively with Parts department staff.
Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
Records complete repair description on work order, including correct model and serial number of equipment and records hour meter reading.
Obtains signature from customer and communicates with them on repair needs or work that was completed.
Examines protective guards, loose bolts, specified safety devices on truck and makes adjustments.
Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
Always maintains professional image of self, cleanliness of van (externally and internally) and of assigned work area at customer site.
Maintains and operates shop equipment and tools.
Notifies Service Manager or Supervisor of safety issues and/or accidents immediately.
Performs quality work as quickly and professional as possible.
Promotes marketing efforts to drive parts, service, equipment and rental sales.
Completes service forms and submit directly to Service department daily via work tablet.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record; CDL may be required.
Experience in forklift repair is desired, intermediate maintenance experience is required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manual, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of an organization.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Must be able to provide own tools for the job immediately; annual tool incentive is given.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

ABOUT THE POSITION
Position requires you to repair and maintain heavy construction and agricultural equipment, electric, propane, CNG, diesel lift trucks and customer equipment. Qualified applicants will have a mechanical background. Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel repair and maintenance is required. Accepting applicants with background in heavy, agriculture or construction equipment. Recent graduates from technical schools with education in automotive and/or diesel repair are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will involve primarily working on Construction and Agricultural equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair, diagnose, inspect, and maintain all material handling and construction and agricultural equipment for customer work orders assigned to you.
Accepts repair orders as assigned by Service Writer.
Primarily servicing construction and agricultural equipment.
Communicate with customer(s) on diagnosed repairs suggested or required for repair and obtains customer approvals.
Reads work orders, observes and listens to truck in operation to determine/diagnose malfunction or problem(s).
Offers solutions to meet customer specifications.
Provides estimates when appropriate.
Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the customer/Service Manager.
Obtains necessary parts working cooperatively with Parts department staff.
Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
Records complete repair description on work order, including correct model and serial number of equipment and records hour meter reading.
Obtains signature from customer and communicates with them on repair needs or work that was completed.
Examines protective guards, loose bolts, specified safety devices on truck and makes adjustments.
Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
Always maintains professional image of self, cleanliness of van (externally and internally) and of assigned work area at customer site.
Maintains and operates shop equipment and tools.
Notifies Service Manager or Supervisor of safety issues and/or accidents immediately.
Performs quality work as quickly and professional as possible.
Promotes marketing efforts to drive parts, service, equipment and rental sales.
Completes service forms and submit directly to Service department daily via work tablet.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record; CDL may be required.
Experience in forklift repair is desired, intermediate maintenance experience is required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manual, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of an organization.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Must be able to provide own tools for the job immediately; annual tool incentive is given.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
