The DieselTechnician is responsible for the maintenance, servicing and completion of repairs for all vehicles within our NationaLease fleet to ensure they are in safe and proper working condition that aligns with Hoyt's Service Standards. The position encompasses 3 key areas with duties pertaining to each.
Inspection & Diagnostics
Perform routine inspections to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues in engines, exhaust systems, braking systems, and other vehicle components
Preventative Maintenance & Repairs
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance jobs like oil changes, filter replacements, brake adjustments and tire rotations that prevent major breakdowns and ensure vehicles operate efficiently.
Repair or replace faulty parts, such as engine components, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
Assist with service calls and roadside repairs for customers as needed.
Communicate with the Service Coordinator for all parts needed to complete repair.
Administration
Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance and repairs completed.
Conduct safety checks to ensure all trucks and trailers meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring proper use of tooling and equipment.

Automotive Technicians / Mechanic Requirements:
At least 2 Years of Automotive Tech experience (Required)
Valid Driver License & reliable transportation to work (Required)
Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
Work well as part of a team
Must have own tools to perform tasks given
Ability to work through physical labor conditions on the job
Automotive Technicians / Mechanic Responsibilities:
Completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints
Conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, and replacing parts / components.
Complying with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Accomplishing maintenance and organization missions by completing related results as needed Compensation: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
