A driver manager is an individual who supervises the maintenance and repair of company or organizational vehicles to ensure that these vehicles are in safe and working order. They manage fleets of vehicles, hire drivers, and monitor the tracking, scheduling and repair of company trucks and cars. They also keep track of the wear and tear on company vehicles, record mileage, and maintain vehicle inventory. These individuals are responsible for the efficient and safe functioning of employee and staff vehicles.
Qualifications for a career in this field typically include Class A driving experience, or several years experience in the trucking and automobile industry. These individuals usually have a GED or a High School diploma, and possess excellent communication, organizational and management skills.
