The Heavy Equipment Operator I - Articulated Truck Driver will safely operate heavy construction equipment to include articulated trucks for earthwork construction projects. Conduct constant surveillance of surroundings before and during the operation of all equipment to ensure safe ground and slope conditions; maintain an adequate distance between other equipment, RECON team members and structures in the immediate work area
Communicate clearly using radio contact, visible verbal, and nonverbal hand signals to determine where materials should be safely placed, loaded or unloaded
Work closely with the Foreman and Superintendent to perform work tasks with the highest level of quality, take direction from more senior level equipment operators on the team to ensure production remains on schedule and all construction work is performed safely
May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation
May perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time
Responsible for care and custody of equipment being operated, including daily cleaning and maintenance
Report all equipment maintenance issues to Superintendent
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practices
May require the ability to read survey stakes for alignment and grading
Perform the duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while using different levels of PPE and respiratory equipment, when necessary
Perform duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while working in all outdoor weather conditions
Must be able to travel over extended periods of time on short notice
Must be able to read, write and understand math and English

Check trucks thoroughly every morning to ensure all material needed for the day is loaded.
Efficiently manage crews, including the time management of a job
Ensure crews complete time sheets.
Always report to work promptly and collect instructions for the day.
Be a proactive leader using your own initiative, when required.

JOB SUMMARY
The Transportation Lead assists in organizing daily deliveries and pick-ups for delivery employees according to geographic area and availability of delivery employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Helps organize daily deliveries and pick-ups for delivery employees according to geographic area and availability of delivery employees.
* Helps process additional deliveries as patient and referral requests are received.
* Responds to emergency delivery calls on a regular and on-call basis.
* Assigns, directs work and coaches staff.
* Ensures delivery staff assembles and departs location within required time frame.
* Participates in developmental tasks designed to build supervisory skills.
* May occasionally perform supervisor's responsibilities if there is a temporary shortage of department supervision.
* Delivers and picks up equipment from homecare patients. Sets up equipment and instructs patients on the basic use of equipment. Assists patients in solving problems regarding equipment use.
* Ensures staff compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements including providing documents for the driver qualification file and abiding by hours of service, daily log, hazardous materials (placarding, training and shipping papers) and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations.
* Maintains daily vehicle maintenance logs and delivery employee incident reports.
* Ensures trucks are in proper working condition through preventative maintenance performed on a timely basis
* Ensures delivery employees load trucks properly within required timeframe.
* Assists delivery employees with special orders and equipment. May assist delivery employees with the loading of trucks when necessary.
* Maintains accurate files containing purchase orders of equipment and medical supplies.
* Reviews data on delivery productivity, such as number of stops made and number of miles driven.
* May perform delivery confirmation.

* Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
