A national supplier of flexible package printing, using lithography, flexography, rotogravure and converting, has an opportunity for an experienced Journeyman Electrician. Experience in the electrical/instrumentation field whose duties include but are not limited to removal, repair and installation of electrical components and intermediate troubleshooting. Experience with motor and motor controls, VFD's, Servo, process controls, and programmable controllers (PLCs), is preferred. Must be able to read and understand electrical instruction manuals, schematics, relating to trouble shooting of production equipment. This dual-role position involves operating manufacturing processes and performing mechanical maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our systems and equipment. The CNC Electrician/Installer will assist in assembling electrical panels and enclosures that comprise our CNC Retrofit Packages. The individual will utilize skills including, but not limited to, cutting, drilling, wiring, and installing various components on panels and electrical enclosures. Qualified individuals must demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical prints, panel building assembly, and control wiring of components such as power circuits, VFDs, PLCs, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, and contactors. The candidate will be expected to route and bundle wiring and cables neatly. The individual should be able to cut, strip, solder, label, and terminate various wire sizes. Job Responsibilities * Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing/production facility * Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective actions * Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime * Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents * Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes * Collaborate with engineers and production teams on system upgrades * Document maintenance activities and repair work * Respond to emergency breakdowns * Test electrical systems and components for functionality * Assist in the installation of new machinery and automation systems * Appropriately apply Federal, State and Local governmental codes. * Gather data, identify and document requirements for facilities projects. * Maintain, document and verify site utility locations, asset installations, property boundaries and site characteristics. * Distribute information consistent with company policies and recognized industry standards. Job Qualifications Education * Electrician background/ (trade school) etc. Formal Qualifications * MUST BE A U.S Citizen. * Proven experience as an electrician in a production or industrial setting * Valid electrician's license or certification * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics * Experience with PLCs and automation systems is a plus * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills * Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Good communication skills * Willingness to work shifts and participate in on-call rotations * Must meet the following physical requirements: * Ability to climb extension ladders. * Ability to consistently lift 45lbs from a floor or table position to chest height using proper lifting technique. * Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet and/or walking. Key Responsibilities: Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues on the machinery and make repairs Ability to troubleshoot PLC issues on the machinery and make repairs Emergency and general maintenance activities, including weekend and off-shift work Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and make changes to HMI's, PLC's and VMD's Project installation activities as assigned by the Process Engineer Analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing and correcting the problems quickly to avoid production delays Ensure company safety procedures are being adhered to Regularly monitor & manage inventory levels for critical spare parts, and identify gaps Participate in all plant safety initiatives Prioritize and repair safety related issues as defined by the safety committee and/or STOP Card program Complete computer-based training on a monthly basis or when assigned Compliance with all policies, procedures, and rules as established Effective communication skills to communicate issues and solutions to cross-functional stakeholders Consult/communicate regularly with all functional teams in the facility Must be able to read instructions, 1-line diagrams, ladder logic, & manuals, and use meters, hand tools, and shop equipment Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master License Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Experience High school diploma Experience with HMI equipment preferred (company will provide training) Allen Bradley PLC experience preferred (company will provide training) Heavy industry experience with electrical systems and production equipment required Two or more years of experience in electrical maintenance required. Proficiency in preventative maintenance systems a plus.
