mental status.
Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.
Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions.
Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer (e.g., Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score [i.e., PARSAP], Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System [PADSS], White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy.
Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
Implement the plan of care including the following interventions:
Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia - general.

Level 4 RN OR Night 9PM - 7:00AM MIN EXP: 2YRS EMR: EPIC SCRUBS: WILL BE PROVIDED CERTS: BLS,ACLS MISC: MUST WORK WKNDS AND HOLS AS NEEDED REQUIREMENT: MUST BE ABLE TO SCRUB & CIRCULATE. Operating Roomnurse provide 1:1 patient care to patients before, during, and after surgery for cases including, but not limited to: General surgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, Endoscopy, GYN.
Provide direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations.
Demonstrates knowledge of anesthetic drugs, actions and side effects.
Demonstrates knowledge of arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, spinal and epidural catheters and how to document appropriately.
Performs Pre-op and Post-op patient care addressing the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment plan of care.
Demonstrates appropriate priority development in performing circulating duties including emergency situations.
Properly opens sterile items and transfers them correctly to sterile field
Correctly pours sterile solutions to the sterile field ensuring all medication/solutions are labeled.
Performs and documents all surgical counts as per standards and procedures.
Oversees the flash sterilization of items insuring sterility with the process parameters, documentation, and transfer of those items to the sterile field.
Properly handles, documents, and labels all surgical specimens and cultures.
Demonstrates proper ordering, handling, and administration of blood products and blood work.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to safely operate mechanical, electrical, and powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
Communicates with Surgeon and Anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition.
Follows and maintains surgical standards, universal precautions, and departmental procedures for pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care.
Education & Experience
Two year or more of OR experience preferred.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
Basic Life Support Certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

Qualifications:
Required:
ADN
Must be I.V. certified from an approved facility or must complete the requirements for I.V. certification during orientation.
Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration skills.
Flexibility and adaptability are essential in meeting system staffing needs as required
Preferred:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required or must be in progress.
2-3 years of nursing experience required; Operating Room experience preferred
Will consider new graduates but will need to successfully complete a periop 101 course
Certifications and Licenses Required:
CNOR Certification preferred
Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
BLS from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
Day Shift, 38.8 hours per week 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Monday - Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation

As an OR Nurse, you will participate in complex surgeries using some of the latest technology in our state-of-the-art surgical suites. An OR Nurse plays an integral part of the perioperative team and advocates for patients undergoing anesthesia and/or sedation. The OR Nursing team works cooperatively with the multidisciplinary care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the perioperative setting and participates in shared clinical decision-making, inspirational leadership, supportive colleagues, and much more.

Must be able to scrub and circulate in the following services: vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, neuro/spine, robotics, thoracic, trauma and general.
