As an Equipment Operator I, you will support well site operations by operating, driving, and maintaining specified equipment while maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities What You'll Do: ️ Assists in the performance of pre and post job vehicle and equipment inspections and associated paperwork and/or reports. Drives equipment to and from various locations. Perform rig up and rig down of designated service units, pressure control equipment, crane, and other heavy equipment as needed. ️ Ensures that fuel and fluid levels are kept at healthy operating thresholds on designated service units. ️ Operates equipment on location that can includes grease injection unit, man lift, fork lift and crane. ️ Monitors, inspects, and adjusts all major equipment during operations to ensure the adequate operation of all equipment. Reviews information from material, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems. ️ Assists in the assembly of tool strings which include perforating runs, logging runs and tool strings to service the well under supervision. Drives an industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, to lift, stack, tier, or move equipment and/or materials in the Fabrication yard. Majority of movements will be of casing, tubing, line pipe, plate and pre-fabricated raw goods. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Loads, unloads trucks with different types of pipes such as casing, tubing, line pipe, and plate of different grades and wall thickness. Keep record of receiving and shipping of materials by quantity, and product. Verifies area where loading and unloading occurs is clear of obstructions, to include equipment and people. Inspects forklift on a daily basis to ensure maintenance is up to date, there is no damage, and no issues that require immediate attention. Performs daily counts of inventory i.e. finished goods; spot checks racks periodically on a weekly basis making sure raw goods are available for the finished goods. Performs monthly building inspections on circuit outlets, fire extinguishers, eye wash station. Reports found problems to direct supervisor for resolution. Other duties may be assigned. Welding Preparation: Obtains specified electrode, based on criteria of raw goods being welded; inserts electrode into rod holder or feed wire "consumable" through welding gun. Attach ground clamp from welding machine to work piece, to dial in the adequate amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, to known standards. Start engine driven welding machine / electric welding machine to produce desired amps. Scratch start arc to generate heat to produce a molten puddle depositing filler metal from electrode to work piece; to join edges of work piece. Preheats work piece with hand torch or heating furnace where applicable. Positions and clamps work pieces together to assemble them on a jig or fixture. Tacks / welds assemblies together. Welding: Manually guides electrode or gun along beveled or fillet edge, maintaining length of arc and speed, to form specified depth of fusion, width, and convex of weld on welded fixture, visually judged by color of base metal i.e. stainless, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions on plate. Post Welding Duties: Cleans slag of weld joint. Visually examines weld on i.e. bead size, bead crown convex/concave, porosity, and undercut according to AWS welding specifications. Repairs out of code equipment/raw goods, i.e. broken, cracked parts and fills cavity. Prepares parts for non-destructive testing (NDT); chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
