Summary: The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support Airstream's Product Development & Engineering (PD&E) team by creating high-quality 3D models, drawings, and design documentation using Autodesk Inventor. This role contributes directly to the design, testing, and continuous improvement of chassis, body structures, interior components, and mechanical systems. We're looking for an Operations Engineering Summer Intern to join our American Ordnance team located in Middletown, IA! You will get to work under the supervision of an experienced engineer. This role provides the opportunity to continuously improve processes and systems under their control and to meet customer needs, both internal and external. The internship tasks will be focused in the area in line with your education and ability. As the Operations Engineering Summer Intern, here's the work you'll do: * Will prepare and update operator procedures for the shop floor. * Address daily production related issues on shop floor. * Participate in continuous improvement projects. * Maintain direct labor standards. * Maintain process layouts. This role is for you if you have these skills: * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. * Ability to handle multiple duties simultaneously. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. * Knowledge in Word, Access, Excel, AutoCAD, Outlook and other software programs as needed. * Ability to prepare well written procedures and technical reports.
