What You Will Do
The Maintenance Engineer will report directly to the respective shift assigned Engineering Team Manager. As a Maintenance Engineer you will provide first response to engineering fault conditions, both reactive and planned maintenance activities as well as being involved in continuous improvement projects within our state of the art, automated Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC).
The Maintenance Engineer's day-to-day responsibilities include:

* Reacting to MHE breakdowns (both mechanical and electrical), performing trouble-shooting to identify the fault, analyzing the issue, and completing the fix in a timely manner to keep operation downtime to a minimum.
* Keeping accurate records such as work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores, etc.
* Perform assembly and sub-assembly repairs by following written work instructions, blueprints and schematics.
* Work closely with other Maintenance Engineers to find ways to increase machine reliability on existing and new equipment, diagnose equipment breakdowns and action repairs ensuring the direction of labor and planned engineering activities fully support the operation.
* Provide first-line support to the Operation through monitoring the activities and efficiency of the Grid and Robots and escalate problems to Engineering Operations for inspection.
* Investigate any stoppage on the grid which pauses the Operation and see through to resolution, including escalating to off-site support and remotely connecting to the Robots.
* Monitor the status of both the Robots and the physical grid including investigating locked grid cells and general Robot health.
* Completing quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The scope of work to be performed by the Electronic Technician includes, but is not limited to, testing, inspecting, installing, maintenance and repair of all signal equipment and may be required to perform digging, trenching, and painting duties while working independently. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Conduct testing for switch machinery, batteries for plant grounds, relays and cable for specifications, track signals, circuits for route locking, crossing track, locking points and balanced air, air compressors and record findings in accordance with AMT 27.
* Inspects test signal apparatus and systems and records the findings including the results from above in accordance with AMT 27.
* Maintains and repairs the above in accordance with AMT 23 and the special instructions governing the construction of Signals and interlocking.
* Assists Signalman in performance of assigned duties and conducts his/her own equipment tests and records results.
* Works with the Foreman to maintain all small tools and equipment conducting daily inventories to ensure good working order.
* Responds to signal failures, answers trouble calls for signal failures and reports to the Foreman

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Mathematical skills in geometry and trigonometry.
Strong Mechanical aptitude.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.

About the Role
As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more
- Maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility
- Track and store department inventory
- Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
- 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience
- 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience
- 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience
- 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output function of building operations
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME
- 2+ years of experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based controls systems
- 2+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance

We offer on-site and in-house repair services, as well as, engineering services which facilitate integration, retrofits and upgrades.
We currently are looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Repair/Engineering/Field Service department.
Responsibilities:
Repair electronic drives, controllers and pc boards
Troubleshoot and test electronic components to board level, using various methods and testing equipment
Repair and/or replace electronic components to board level, including but not limited to: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc.
Verify repairs using start-up testing procedures
Installs, repairs, tests, troubleshoots and maintains electrical equipment and fixtures.
Determines method and sequence of proposed installation of electrical fixtures and equipment such as AC/DC motors, control panels, PLC's, switches and transformers by referring to blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications or verbal instructions.
Analyzes failures of electrical equipment, using ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, drawings and visual inspection.
Performs preventative and reliability centered maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
Associated degree in electronics or electrical technology or relevant military experience.
Ability to solder/de-solder
Thorough understanding of electronic circuitry
Ability to recognize different electronic components as their functions
Familiarity with and ability to utilize different types of test equipment such as function generators, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies.
Possesses strong communication skills
Regularly required to sit, stand and lift up to 50 lbs.
