Own day-to-day compliance for particulate matter (PM10/PM2.5), opacity.
Develop, implement, and optimize dust control BMPs (e.g., water sprays, enclosures, surfactants, paved roads, speed limits).
Oversee baghouses, filters, and control devices: inspections, leak testing, DP trends, and maintenance coordination.

Qualifications:
B.S. in Environmental Engineering (or related field).
3-5 years' experience in industrial environmental compliance; cement, lime, aggregates, mining, or terminals experience preferred.
Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state air and water regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, NPDES/MSGP, SPCC).
Experience with SWPPP authoring/implementation and industrial stormwater sampling and reporting.
Familiarity with Title V/NSR permitting, emissions inventories, AP-42 calculations, and visible emissions/opacity standards.

This position supports the Compliance Management Branch and is responsible for providing hazardous waste technical expertise and ensuring compliance throughout the facilities, as well as the units within the Public Works Environmental Division at Fort Polk. Specific tasks and responsibilities include:
Support 24/7 emergency hazardous material/hazardous waste spill response team by responding within 90 minutes of spill notification incident and oversee the management and handling of all spill media; and prepare a report for each response
Assist in serving all solvent tanks (est. 110) on the installation. (Servicing shall include adding solvent when required, cleaning and changing filters as necessary and replacing hose lines and pump when needed).
Maintain inventory of all solvent machines, location and needed supplies and equipment.
Distill used parts washer solvent/antifreeze as needed and document/maintain statistical information required by client
Performs required maintenance on solvent and antifreeze machine as required and orders necessary supplies/equipment to maintain machines.
Maintain copies of all requisition documents used in support of distillation operation.
Assist in the maintenance of two 90-day storage facilities in accordance with 40 CFR 262.34 to collect hazardous waste and immediately inform the CMB of any potential non-compliance issues. Each facility will be inspected weekly.
Obtain samples of products for sufficient analytical testing for approximately 30 sampling events. Complete the chain of custody forms and coordinate with the waste generator to ensure that proper credit card paperwork is completed prior to shipping sample.
Ensures Environmental Compliance for solvent distillation operation, specifically for the storage and disposal of waste solvent and antifreeze according to LDEQ Regulations as it pertains to hazardous waste, environmental compliance monitoring and tracking.
Conduct an environmental pre-clearance inspection at the APOD upon completion of each rotation and provide a deficiency list to the rotational unit.
Attend and brief up to 60 rotational unit briefings to detail environmental concerns and develop corrective action/response plans to address these concerns at the APOD.
Provide environmental compliance support, supplies and equipment to Rotational troops at the APOD training to ensure the program remains in compliance with LDEQs regulations on Hazardous Material and Waste Management, Spill Response Support, and Recycling.
Specific Qualifications

Experience working on a military installation desired.
