Tetra Tech - Whitehouse Station, NJ has a full-time remote field position available as an Environmental Field Technician for Tetra Tech SWE. As an Environmental Field Technician for Tetra Tech SWE, you will be responsible for collecting environmental samples, completing operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for environmental remediation systems, recording field measurements and data at landfills and industrial facilities, sampling and inspecting landfill gas and liquids collection and control systems, conducting specialized testing, and performing maintenance activities at our Client's facilities. The majority of these facilities are located in New York and New Jersey. Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Required Qualifications: * Minimum High School Diploma and 1 year of general working experience. * Preferred A.S. or B.S Degree in environmental science or other natural science (geology, biology, ecology, etc.). * OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred with current eight-hour OSHA HAZWOPER refresher preferred. * Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude required * Ability to learn and work with complex field monitoring equipment including but not limited to flame-ionization detectors (FIDs), photo-ionization detectors (PIDs), explosive gas detectors, water level detectors PH/temperature/conductivity meters, and other typical environmental monitoring equipment. * Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions * Ability to learn general groundwater, soil gas, soil, and air sampling techniques including applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements. * Ability to be familiar with operations and maintenance techniques for landfill gas and landfill fluids collection systems. * Ability to build and retain mutual relationships with clients. * Some heavy equipment operation, HDPE pipe fusion experience a plus.
