Responsibilities:
About the Role:
As an Intermodal Equipment Operator (also known as a Terminal Operator), you'll play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of shipping containers within our intermodal yard. You'll operate specialized equipment-such as hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders-to load, unload, and relocate containers as part of our daily logistics operations. Your work ensures containers are handled accurately and safely, keeping freight moving on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.
Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the yard.
Use top loaders, side loaders, and/or cranes to stack, move, and organize containers.
Perform equipment inspections before and after use to ensure operational safety.
Communicate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate moves and tasks.
Maintain a safe work environment by following established protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating heavy equipment or machinery in a logistics or industrial environment preferred

This position requires operating equipment in a safe manner. It is a requirement to follow instructions and meet set standards and to judge distances and slopes accurately. This is inside and outside work in all types of environments, conditions, weather, and seasons. Appropriate personal safety equipment is supplied. This is medium duty work requiring lifting, climbing and sitting. Crouching, or stooping and bending, full use of hand, arms, and legs and eye-hand coordination is essential. Reaching and feeling, overhead lifting, and repetitive motions are required: Talking and hearing; good eyesight (either naturally or with correction); and color discrimination are essential to satisfactory performance. Due to the nature of the position, an Operator may be required to perform other duties throughout the course of a workday. The heavy equipment operator position will be required to safely and efficiently inspect, repair, and maintain the railroad track infrastructure to insure safe and efficient service to our customers. This is a manual labor position, which requires that the individual becomes proficient in the following skills, duties, and requirements within a prescribed training and introductory period. The Loader Operator is responsible for working safely and efficiently to support shipping, receiving, and production operations. This role ensures the timely movement of materials and finished goods while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
Operate mobile equipment such as heavy loaders, skid steers, and yard trucks safely and efficiently.
Load trailers with packaged and bulk materials.
Complete and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
Quality
Ensure all quality assurance procedures are followed and communicated effectively to team members and drivers.
Support continuous improvement by assisting in the development and implementation of new quality processes.
Production (as needed)
Operate production and packaging machinery as required.
Manage stretch wrapping by loading palletized bales, initiating wrap cycles, and transferring finished pallets to storage.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in monthly safety meetings and adhere to all safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Foster teamwork and collaboration with colleagues to support operational success.
