The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator who is responsible for providing effective leadership to the estimating group through all aspects of the estimating life cycle. This position is accountable for the development and submission of detailed and accurate estimates, providing guidance/peer checks to other estimators, and for supporting post bid submission customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Cost Development - Prepare detailed cost estimates based on all levels of design documents; perform design-build, conceptual, and GMP estimating; prepare GMP proposals and estimates in various customer-required formats; complete final pricing pages within Accubid software; and apply contract requirements (schedule, specifications, drawings, safety, etc.) to pricing. Bid Strategy/Proposal Development & RFP Management - Set up and lead pre-estimating meetings for each project; develop detailed proposal letters and bid forms; work collaboratively to produce high-quality RFP deliverables aligned with client expectations; coordinate with internal subject matter experts and Estimating teams to develop proposal content; generate award and submission documents in compliance with bid deadlines; and escalate legal or contractual bid requirements if required. Vendor & Subcontractor Procurement Support - Solicit, analyze, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness, scope alignment, and best value; and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and ethical standards. Estimate Review, Quality Control & Risk Management - Perform peer reviews of regional estimates, proposals, and lead bid reviews; participate in estimate review meetings with internal and external stakeholders; review contract documents for accuracy, consistency, and risk exposure prior to final pricing; and ensure project delivery and estimate alignment with contractual and operational requirements. Leadership, Training & Talent Development - Mentor and support Associate Estimators; assist in creating and executing development plans for Associate Estimators; and promote estimating best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator who is responsible for providing effective leadership to the estimating group through all aspects of the estimating life cycle. This position is accountable for the development and submission of detailed and accurate estimates, providing guidance/peer checks to other estimators, and for supporting post bid submission customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Cost Development - Prepare detailed cost estimates based on all levels of design documents; perform design-build, conceptual, and GMP estimating; prepare GMP proposals and estimates in various customer-required formats; complete final pricing pages within Accubid software; and apply contract requirements (schedule, specifications, drawings, safety, etc.) to pricing. Bid Strategy/Proposal Development & RFP Management - Set up and lead pre-estimating meetings for each project; develop detailed proposal letters and bid forms; work collaboratively to produce high-quality RFP deliverables aligned with client expectations; coordinate with internal subject matter experts and Estimating teams to develop proposal content; generate award and submission documents in compliance with bid deadlines; and escalate legal or contractual bid requirements if required. Vendor & Subcontractor Procurement Support - Solicit, analyze, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness, scope alignment, and best value; and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and ethical standards. Estimate Review, Quality Control & Risk Management - Perform peer reviews of regional estimates, proposals, and lead bid reviews; participate in estimate review meetings with internal and external stakeholders; review contract documents for accuracy, consistency, and risk exposure prior to final pricing; and ensure project delivery and estimate alignment with contractual and operational requirements. Leadership, Training & Talent Development - Mentor and support Associate Estimators; assist in creating and executing development plans for Associate Estimators; and promote estimating best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team. Who We're Looking For An acceptable combination of education and/or work experience with 10+ years of related experience in structured cabling/security construction industry and 5+ years performing cost estimating for the structured cabling/security industry. Design build estimating experience and knowledge of construction building practices with familiarity of large industrial/commercial projects preferred Experience with Accubid Anywhere Estimating Software and Primavera 6 highly desirable. Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project. Knowledge of the National Electric Code and NFPA 70E as well as BICSI and TIA/EIA standards Local to York, Pennsylvania (preferable) but with regular travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and other locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
