ReconCraft is seeking a Fabricator III to be responsible for all manners of fabrication to manufacture new vessels and related components. Duties include preparing, assembling, and welding all components to create a final assembly or sub-assembly based on specifications and/or drawings.
Paid On-Site Training. We provide 6 weeks of paid on-site training to every new hire, regardless of whether you have 1, 10, or 20 years of fabrication experience. This training establishes shop-floor standards and expectations while helping identify opportunities for future growth.
Continuous Improvement Training. We are committed to developing your skills at every level. If you are an experienced MIG welder who wants to learn TIG welding, we encourage and support that growth. We don't pull ladders-we extend them.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
* Operate welding equipment using appropriate GMAW and GTAW techniques to weld aluminum and steel sheet, plate, and extrusion in all positions
* Prepare weldments using tools such as saws, routers, grinders, pneumatic cutting tools, wire brushes and various hand tools of the trade
* Basic interpretation of blueprints, drawings, weld symbols and schedules to lay out patterns on material
* Perform welding in the fabrication phase of construction, including the pre-fabrication of sub-assemblies such as bulkheads, girders, decks, and cabins using jigs and fixtures
* Secure small parts for assembly and welding
* Perform operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and other fabrication equipment
* Maintain a professional, neat, and secure fabrication area
Qualifications:
* Education:
* High school graduate or GED
* Required Knowledge/Experience:
* Valid driver's license
* Aluminum welding and fabrication experience
* Must pass the Welding and Fabrication testing given on site
* Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
* Fabricating and assembling aluminum vessels and/or aluminum vessel components
* Interpreting blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and weld schedules
* Operating forklifts with certification
* Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
* This position requires grasping, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing, and visual acuity
* Must also be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks

_Job Training Skill Development_
Must be able to satisfactorily perform all functions of this position within 90 days of starting this position. Must pass Valmont forklift certification for all forklifts used in the position.
_Decision Making_
The decisions the person in this position makes affects inventory accuracy and availability of material for the production and shipping areas. The incumbent is responsible for prioritizing the workload to avoid lost time to all departments. Utilizes product mix in location assuring proper rotation of stored materials. Reviews space allocations and material flow to maximize utilization of space available. Able to apply creativity to solve the problems encountered within the scope of their activity. Examples would be to receive material, issue material, or resolve inventory discrepancies and implement the appropriate action to correct them.

_Physical Effort_
Operates equipment 50% of the time. Lifts, pushes, and carries material
_Mental and Visual Effort_
Coordination of eyes, hands and feet required to perform in an efficient and safe manner. Requires constant awareness. Must be able to accurately read and write part numbers and quantities on material, logs, move tags, and computer documents. Inventory logs and the computerized inventory system must be prepared and interpreted correctly. Due to the visual requirements of this position, employee must demonstrate acceptable vision by passing the eye test for an Oregon driver's license. If employee does not have a driver's license, the determination of acceptable vision will be made on an individual basis.
