As a Shop Fabricator, you will work under the direction of the Shop Leadership to create scale architectural models, mock-ups, prototypes, and physical explorations that add value to our projects and clients. Responsibilities What You'll Do: Serve as the primary Shop representative in the Los Angeles or New York office, building relationships with design teams, communicating Shop capabilities, and helping integrate physical modeling into the design process. Collaborate with internal designers and subject matter experts to produce high-quality models, mock-ups, and prototypes that support project storytelling and decision-making. Independently manage the day-to-day operation of the LA or NY fabrication workspace, including workflow coordination, equipment operation, organization, and material readiness. Maintain regular communication with the Shop Leadership team in Dallas, receiving project assignments, sharing progress updates, and participating in planning and coordination sessions. Support modeling and fabrication efforts for teams across all Corgan offices, contributing to a national network of makers and designers. Mentor colleagues and design teams, offering guidance in making, fabrication techniques, and safe shop practices. Assist in maintaining fabrication equipment, ensuring proper operation, routine checks, and adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards. Explore new technologies, materials, and methodologies; test ideas through prototyping; and provide thoughtful insights to expand The Shop's capabilities. Conduct investigations and physical studies that inform design decisions, support innovation, and contribute to our culture of experimentation. Qualifications What You'll Bring: Degree in Architecture, Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field. Professional experience working with fabrication tools, materials, and shop equipment. Strong understanding of digital fabrication technologies (laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC workflows) and associated processes. Ability to choose appropriate fabrication methodologies based on design intent, material behavior, and project constraints. Ability to recommend creative fabrication approaches that uncover opportunities, clarify design intent, and support project storytelling. Strong communication skills; receptive to feedback and constructive when providing it to others. Comfortable working with significant autonomy, navigating ambiguous environments, and collaborating across disciplines. Passionate about making, craft, and creating high-quality physical experiences; possesses a curiosity-first mindset. Experience in the Architecture or Interior Design industry is a plus. Experience with computational design or parametric modeling tools is a plus. Material. To check stock levels of creative sundries to make sure all jobs can be completed. Materials should be ordered in good time. Access to HOST is provided so that material purchases against specific jobs can be tracked easily. Completion of Work Progress Reports. Job sheets on specific jobs will carry a QC sheet. As Creative Fabricator, all works must be signed off having been checked and QCd. A signed copy should be returned to the Production Manager at the end of the job. Work carried out on all prototypes must be logged and clear instructions on exact method of production must be saved and accessible by all members of staff. Job Completion & Dispatch. Shared responsibility for the finished product once it is in production. Responsible for checking all items are complete and that everything is handed over to dispatch ready to pack. Products should be finished well in advance of dispatch date and in the event that this is not the case, creative staff may be required to help pack and dispatch the goods. Painted goods must not be passed on to dispatch wet and must not be passed on to dispatch without thorough QC. Finished goods must not be taken from dispatch unless agreed by creative staff.

JOB SUMMARY: The Trades Instructor will educate students using Apex curriculum to become proficient in their trade. The Trades Instructor is responsible for delivering and facilitating a prescribed curriculum through a combination of in-class/virtual theory-based instruction and hands-on demonstration/application of skilled trades. The Trades Instructor will prepare and educate students to assume entry level positions within their respective trade. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Instruct students in theory and hands-on curriculum in a classroom environment within the subject of skilled trades. Determines the best method to deliver needed training and course instruction; prepares materials, locations, and supplies accordingly. Explains and demonstrates jobs and tasks to be performed. Explains, demonstrates, and emphasizes all safety aspects of jobs and tasks; reviews any applicable job safety analysis with each student. Schedules, organizes, and provides supplemental training when necessary. Conducts refresher training and make-up sessions when necessary. Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety. Guides, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of students; ensures work is completed on in accordance with assigned curriculum. Ensures each assigned student follows all safety standards. Provides student evaluations based on performance and goals set by Apex curriculum in a timely and constructive manner. Compile accurate attendance records and grade entries and ensure they are maintained and submitted timely per state and accrediting standards. Ensures each assigned student follows all established rules and meets expectations for appropriate conduct within the school. Participate and successfully complete all professional development sessions as required by accrediting and state standards. Participate in all individual career development sessions as required. Maintain trades licenses as needed per state and accrediting standards. Functions as an ambassador and liaison for Apex Technical School. Contributes to organization success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team results.
