Summary: Plan, direct and perform diversified duties required to lay out, build and assemble all types of conveyer units, filtration units, component parts, and sub-assemblies manufactured by the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:
Work from bills of material, blueprints, sketches and verbal and written instructions.
Check bills of material and interpret complex detail and assembly drawings to lay out and devise method and sequence of fabrication and assembly operations.
Move, position and remove components from work areas.
Fabricate and fit all types of parts by burning, hand cutting and grinding.
Set up machines and perform all phases and types of welding on conveyer parts.
Build and assemble all parts of conveyer systems by bolting, cotter pinning or welding parts together.
Must be able to Mig Weld.
Install coolant piping, tanks and hydraulic lines.
Use floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

As a Welder II, you will be responsible for producing high-quality weldments in accordance with job prints, work instructions, and company weld procedures. You will work with both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, support multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, etc) and ensure welds meet visual and structural quality standards. You will also support the mentoring of less experienced welders to maintain quality and throughput goals.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG, TIG and/or FCAW welding on structural and sheet metal assemblies, per prints, work instructions and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints and fabrication drawings to identify weld type, size, length, location, and spacing.
Use weld gauges, tape measures and other tools to verify weld size, spacing and adherence to work instructions.
Position, align, fit, tack and weld parts using fixtures, jigs and Bluco setups (or equivalent) to ensure dimensionally accurate assemblies.
Perform visual inspection of welds and tacks, remove excessive spatter, and verify weld appearance and soundness.
Work in qualified positions (flat, horizontal, possibly vertical/overhead as required) depending on job specifications.
Mentor and assist Entry-level welders: help with setup, review their work, provide feedback, and ensure first-time quality.
Maintain housekeeping of work area and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on welding equipment as required.
Follow all facility safety and welding safety standards; participate in required training programs.
Other duties as assigned by management to support production and quality goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Welding certification/training in defect & discontinuity recognition; must demonstrate knowledge of weld discontinuities and ability to identify them.
Proven experience (minimum “Welder II” level) in MIG (GMAW) fillet welds and TIG (GTAW) fillet welds including dissimilar materials (ferrous and non-ferrous) and multiple positions.
Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols and prints.
Proficient use of measuring tools (tape measure, weld gauges, calipers) and ability to verify weld size/spacing.
Ability to mentor less experienced welders and uphold quality standards.
Familiarity with fixtures, jigs, Bluco systems or similar for repeatable weld setups.
Commitment to “zero defects” mindset: produce visually and structurally sound welds the first time.
Awareness of ISO 9001 & 14001 standards (or willingness to train) and ability to follow quality / environmental procedures.
Good physical condition: able to bend, lift (up to ~50 lbs), stand for long periods, twist/bend, etc.
Must pass required visual acuity test (e.g., Jaeger J-2 near vision or equivalent) and all relevant shop safety / training requirements.
