We are actively recruiting a Shop Fabricator III to join our growing Shop team in our Los Angeles and New York office locations. The Shop is Corgan's in-house fabrication team, which leverages skills in both innovative technologies and traditional craftsmanship to produce physical explorations that enhance our design process. As a Shop Fabricator, you will work under the direction of the Shop Leadership to create scale architectural models, mock-ups, prototypes, and physical explorations that add value to our projects and clients.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary Shop representative in the Los Angeles or New York office, building relationships with design teams, communicating Shop capabilities, and helping integrate physical modeling into the design process.
Collaborate with internal designers and subject matter experts to produce high-quality models, mock-ups, and prototypes that support project storytelling and decision-making.
Independently manage the day-to-day operation of the LA or NY fabrication workspace, including workflow coordination, equipment operation, organization, and material readiness.
Maintain regular communication with the Shop Leadership team in Dallas, receiving project assignments, sharing progress updates, and participating in planning and coordination sessions.
Support modeling and fabrication efforts for teams across all Corgan offices, contributing to a national network of makers and designers.
Mentor colleagues and design teams, offering guidance in making, fabrication techniques, and safe shop practices.
Assist in maintaining fabrication equipment, ensuring proper operation, routine checks, and adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
Explore new technologies, materials, and methodologies; test ideas through prototyping; and provide thoughtful insights to expand The Shop's capabilities.
Conduct investigations and physical studies that inform design decisions, support innovation, and contribute to our culture of experimentation.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
Degree in Architecture, Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
Professional experience working with fabrication tools, materials, and shop equipment.
Strong understanding of digital fabrication technologies (laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC workflows) and associated processes.
Ability to choose appropriate fabrication methodologies based on design intent, material behavior, and project constraints.
Ability to recommend creative fabrication approaches that uncover opportunities, clarify design intent, and support project storytelling.
Strong communication skills; receptive to feedback and constructive when providing it to others.
Comfortable working with significant autonomy, navigating ambiguous environments, and collaborating across disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities

Fabricate and repair metal components, frames, and structures for vessels, barges, and marine equipment.
Welding of padeyes and lashing brackets on different floating assets to support offshore operations.
Assist with marine salvage operations , including cutting, rigging, lifting, and structural recovery tasks.
Work safely and effectively in challenging environments , including on the water on crane barges, docks, and offshore job sites.
Operate and maintain welding, burning, and cutting equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
Collaborate closely with team members during heavy lift, dive, and salvage operations.
Follow all safety protocols, company procedures, and maritime regulations .
Participate in the setup, mobilization, and demobilization of gear and work platforms for each project.
Support other departments when necessary, including general maintenance and field fabrication tasks.

Essential Job Summary:
The Entry-Level B Welder is responsible for performing basic welding and repair tasks on steel waste containers and compactors. This position focuses on structural reinforcement, minor fabrication, and the restoration of worn or damaged units under supervision. The B Welder must be reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Perform MIG welding, stick welding and torch cutting on steel containers and compactors following basic repair instructions.
Assist in structural repairs such as lid attachment, bottom plate patching, caster bracket welding, and frame reinforcement.
Grind and clean welds to ensure proper finish and functionality.
Operate hand tools and basic fabrication equipment under supervision.
Support the team in container inspections and identification of weld-related defects.
Adhere to all company safety policies and welding procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist in equipment maintenance.
Report any material shortages, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to supervisor promptly.
Document completed repairs and work performed when required.
Assist senior welders or fabricators on more complex builds as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Basic MIG welding, stick welding and torch cutting experience or completion of a welding training program.
Ability to follow verbal instructions, work orders, or simple repair sketches.
Understanding of basic hand and power tools used in metal repair.
Physically capable of lifting heavy parts, standing, bending, and working in indoor and outdoor conditions.

Donjon Marine, LLC, an established and expanding New Jersey-based Salvage and Diving company, is seeking an experienced, safety-driven, and reliable candidate to fill the role of a generic welder/fabricator in our Salvage Team.
This is not a typical welder/fabricator position-each of our team members are also salvors. Welding and Fabrication is one of many tools used to support complex salvage operations, and not all projects involve welding/fabrication. This “dual hatted” selected individual will play a key role both offshore and shoreside, to include welding/fabrication for projects supporting salvage operations and shop work, being able to weld
Primary Responsibilities
Perform high-quality welding on various materials (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.) using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
Conduct plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene and propane torch work for fabrication, repair, and salvage operations
Fabricate and repair metal components, frames, and structures for vessels, barges, and marine equipment.
Welding of padeyes and lashing brackets on different floating assets to support offshore operations.
Assist with marine salvage operations, including cutting, rigging, lifting, and structural recovery tasks.
Work safely and effectively in challenging environments, including on the water on crane barges, docks, and offshore job sites.
Operate and maintain welding, burning, and cutting equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
Collaborate closely with team members during heavy lift, dive, and salvage operations.
Follow all safety protocols, company procedures, and maritime regulations.
Participate in the setup, mobilization, and demobilization of gear and work platforms for each project.
