This role plays a critical part in the success of Cortavo's managed service delivery model handling everything from complex onsite issues and installations to remote troubleshooting and documentation. The Field Engineer represents Cortavo directly with clients and their end users, and is expected to demonstrate technical proficiency, clear communication, and an ability to adapt to evolving needs and schedules.
This is a hybrid field role requiring:
Onsite support at client locations at least once per week (or more, based on the discretion of the hiring manager)
Travel on short notice to other client sites when needed

*When not onsite, the Field Engineer will provide remote support and collaborate with internal teams to close tickets and improve documentation.
This role has dual reporting to the Service Delivery Manager and the Service Delivery Team Lead.
Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional onsite and remote support for Cortavo clients and their end users
Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, printers, and networking equipment
Act as the technical face of Cortavo building trust through professionalism, punctuality, and accountability
Maintain detailed and accurate ticket documentation, including timekeeping, notes, and scheduled tasks
Support Office 365, Windows 11, MacOS, network connectivity, VPNs, and basic server administration
Image and deploy devices as part of client onboarding and refresh initiatives
Conduct new user orientation and “first day” training on equipment and support access
Maintain clean and organized workspace setups, ensuring cable management and presentation standards
Respond to shifting priorities and travel on short notice as client needs arise
Stay overnight at client locations when required, sometimes for multiple days
Track and restock inventory in vehicles and field closets
Assist with RMAs and warranty claims for damaged or failed equipment
Maintain and write accurate knowledge base articles as you come across knowledge and information while working cases. Knowledge is the base of Managed Services.
Work collaboratively with Service Desk, Engineering, and Client Success teams on escalated support
Required Skills & Qualifications:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Overseeing of system infrastructure, system hosting, system connectivity, and system licensing.
Program and commission systems for projects.
Develop programming documents and system matrices.
Perform pre-installation programming, kitting, and device configuration.
Provide technical support to other technicians.
Apply digital licenses as needed.
Ensure quality assurance on system installations.
Maintain and enforce device labeling standards.
Collaborate with engineering during design and drafting phases.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
5 years of experience in physical security.
A bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent work experience.
Expert knowledge in Lenel OnGuard Enterprise architecture.
Experience in managing, installing, configuring, engineering, and designing.
Experience with one or more of the following systems: Lenel S2, Avigilon, Genetec, Axis, Milestone, and other major OEMs.
Ability to maintain a US Government Public Trust Clearance (current active clearance, desired).

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in various conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear, utilize personal protective equipment, lift from the floor, frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, and position themselves to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday - Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Job Summary
Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Key Responsibilities
1. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Completed logs are to be filed with the project files. Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. 9. Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.

Travel Requirements:
This role requires up to 90% travel, primarily by air or rental car, as our customers are located throughout the United States. Most travel occurs Monday through Friday, though occasionally it may extend into the weekend. In some cases, assignments can be combined into longer trips (up to 10 consecutive days). When this happens, additional time off will be provided afterward to balance your schedule. Travel reimbursement is done via company credit card or personal card following the company's travel & expense policy guidelines. PPE is also covered by the company.
Essential Functions:
Partner with Project Managers to deliver customized engineering solutions for customers utilizing our advanced technology.
Conduct on-site assessments, installations, training, and troubleshooting for KCF's full range of hardware solutions.
Collaborate with engineering, sales, and product technology solutions teams to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and performance of KCF hardware offerings.
Design and oversee field experiments, data collection, and trials to validate solutions and gather actionable insights.
Lead complex troubleshooting efforts for hardware and software issues, documenting results for feedback to product technology solutions teams.
Provide guidance and technical expertise to field technicians and engineers, promoting skill development and knowledge transfer.
Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations that summarize findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Represent the company as a subject matter expert at client meetings and industry events.
Collaborate with the Project Management and Product Technology Solutions teams to assist in new product rollouts, creating field procedures for the PiezoSensing module and other product lines.
Lead or participate in high-impact corporate initiatives, including large-scale hardware assessments and system calibrations.
Identify and drive optimization projects tailored to customer needs and operational efficiency enhancements.
Ensure compliance with all Field Service and Safety Forms and processes.
Complete complex Engineering Design work as assigned in conjunction with the Project Manager.
Assist in the installation of Advanced Hardware Solutions as well as data validation and accelerometer audits.
Participate in scheduled field services as directed by the Field Operations Manager or Coordinator.
Complete all required safety training and comply with service and safety protocols during on-site work.
Mentor assigned junior staff, advancing their technical knowledge and soft skills.
Complete all required KCF Academy training within specified time frames.
Advance expertise in specialized fields to improve operational processes and customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and other KCF leadership staff.
Qualifications:
GED required; bachelor's degree in engineering, trades program or equivalent experience including any of the following; Vibration Analysis (Route Based) Experience, Millwright Experience, Electrician Experience, Controls Technician or Engineer (PLC) Experience. Military Communications or Maintenance Experience; Airforce AFSC 3D_series, Navy - ET, IT series, Nuclear Power Program, Marines MOS 06XX series, Army 25 & 17 series, Airforce AFSCs - 2A_series, Navy - AD, AE, AMT, AT, EM series, Marines MOS 60 _series or 67_series, Army MOS91 series and 94 series.
5+ years relevant experience. Experience in any of the following is preferred, but not required: vibration analysis, radio frequency, programmable logic controller, automation, and manufacturing/industrial plants.
Able, willing, and excited to visit and maneuver through large industrial plants
Ability to travel 90% of the time
Ability to travel internationally 20% of the time
A valid U.S. passport is required; KCF will financially support hire through process if needed.
