What You'll Do
As a Survey Party Chief, you'll take the lead on-site-guiding field crews, ensuring safety, and collecting accurate land survey data that supports successful project delivery. Your work will combine leadership, technical precision, and real-time problem-solving in dynamic outdoor environments.
Ensure survey crew safety through hands-on training, daily Tailgate Safety Meetings, and enforcement of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
Lead and mentor field survey staff, fostering high performance and continuous skill development.
Maintain organized field notes, sketches, and survey control documentation aligned with project standards and regulatory requirements.
Collect, verify, and process survey field data using proper naming conventions to ensure clean transitions to office teams.
Coordinate daily with Project Managers and Land Surveyors to set project goals, track survey progress, and quickly resolve field challenges.
Follow client and company field protocols to guarantee survey data accuracy across a wide range of specifications and project types.
Perform control checks, traverse angle closures, and level run validations before submitting data for processing.
Track and document crew timesheets, vehicle use, and equipment condition to optimize daily operations.

What You'll Do as a Survey Technician
Process, organize and analyze survey field data using Leica Infinity.
Create and update precise maps, plans, and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D to ensure accurate surveys and boundary determinations.

What You'll Do, Key Responsibilities as an Environmental Specialist II
Plan and execute Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), due diligence investigations, and environmental compliance audits in accordance with ASTM standards.
Design and implement site remediation programs including soil, groundwater, and vapor mitigation.
Prepare site characterization reports, corrective action plans, soil management plans and site-specific health and safety plans.
Perform field inspections, including sampling of soil, water, vapor, and air; well monitoring; and operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
Oversee field activities such as drilling, sampling, and remediation system installation with minimal supervision.
Coordinate effectively with laboratories for sample submission and chain-of-custody documentation.

What You Bring, Your Expertise as an Environmental Specialist II
B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in site remediation and environmental consulting.
Knowledge of EPA and state remediation regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, NYSDEC, PADEP, etc.).
Experience with remediation technologies (e.g. ISCO, SVE, bioremediation, excavation).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour with current 8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER annual refresher.
NYSDOL-Certified Asbestos Building Inspector strongly preferred.

Willing to travel and work 10+ hour field days in peak season.

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Master's preferred
8+ years' experience in precast concrete design engineering for transportation infrastructure and underground structures (utility vaults, manholes, drainage structures and pump stations).
Precast project management experience
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it
Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7 and AASHTO codes
Familiarity with IBC codes a plus

What You'll Do as a Transportation Project Manager
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subconsultants and agencies to ensure seamless project delivery.
Successfully lead projects from initial setup through planning, safety analysis, and project kick-off.

Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C. has created an internship program to engage college students that are ready to get their foot in the door and gain hands on experience! By using the skills and knowledge gained from academic study and combining with an internship, the student's transition from student to professional is enhanced.
Students must be organized, self-motivated, and dependable. We have multiple sectors/service lines in which an internship can be completed as selected by the student. Under direct supervision, the student will perform routine tasks and work on a wide variety of projects gaining a well-rounded learning experience.
Who: Students currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program (or related field)
What: Obtain hands-on professional work experience with our Transportation, Land Development or Energy groups in various tasks related to design, analysis, and implementation of projects.

When: Fisher Associates accepts internship applications year-round. Internship timeline is dependent on manager needs and student schedule.
The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

What You'll Do as a Highway Design Engineer
Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage highway design projects, including drainage, alignments, and related tasks.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive design plans, detailed specifications, technical reports, and accurate cost estimates.
Ensure designs adhere to state and local standards, regulations and safety codes.
Promote, utilize and support QA/QC processes to guarantee quality deliverables.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subconsultants and agencies to ensure seamless project delivery.
Proactively support project managers with schedules, documentation, and presentations.
Assist with field inspections and data collection for roadway projects.

What You Bring, Your Expertise as a Highway Design Engineer
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, Master's preferred
5-10 years of transportation experience Highway Design Engineering experience preferred
EIT required
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it
Proficiency in MicroStation, STAAD, OpenRoads, and Bridge Design Software preferred.
Familiarity with state DOT design standards (NYSDOT or PennDOT preferred)
