RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DINING ROOM SERVER
Under the direction of the Dining Services Director, a Dining Room Server performs a variety of tasks in the preparation, service, and clean up for lunch and dinner meals served to our residents. Some of the general responsibilities of a Dining Server include, but are not limited to:
Upholds a high level of customer service when dealing with staff, residents, families, and guests - addressing questions and concerns with respect and thoughtfulness
Creates an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests
Follows established guidelines while serving in the main dining room and at special functions
Checks with hostess on duty for any special meal arrangements
Serves residents promptly in an orderly and polite manner, bussing tables between courses in an organized manner, and resetting tables daily
Follows all safety and sanitation rules and regulations
Follows instructions, works well with others, and maintains a good rapport with residents
Refers all problems to host/hostess or member of the management staff
Presents a clean and professional appearance
Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties
SHIFTS OF A DINING SERVER
We are looking for a Full Time and/or Part Time Dining Room Server. We serve two meals a day - lunch and dinner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or long-term care dining environment preferred.
Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, working weekends or holidays when needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk/stand 90% or more of shifts, and respond to all resident and emergency needs quickly, with or without reasonable accommodation.

General Purpose: The Restaurant Server is an engaging and enthusiastic ambassador for the restaurant, intuiting the guest's appetites through verbal and non-verbal cues, makes recommendations and sells any item on the menu to even the most reluctant palate. The Restaurant Server works accurately efficiently, expertly prioritizes and works to exceed guest expectations.
Specific Responsibilities:
Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift.
Follows all steps of service.
Knows descriptions and ingredients of all menu items.
Knows all wines by the glass and at least 5 wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles.
Knows drinks names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.
Knows specialty beverages i.e. single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, beer list, etc.
Sells menu items with goal of increasing overall sales.
Serves beverages and food in a cheerful and efficient manner.
Ensures that service station is properly stocked.
Completes all posted side work.
Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers & guests.
Provides prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift.
Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the restaurant service area.
Assists/executes any and all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Follow all proper sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications
Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
Responsible, dependable, punctual.
Basic math skills.
Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read and understand English.
Clean and professional appearance.
Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c.
Familiar with and able to use POS systems.
Must pass a background check.
Education/Formal Training:
High school or equivalent education required.
Experience in an upscale dining environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to carry full service tray comfortably.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
