The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) was founded on December 2, 1938, by a group of rural residents who needed electricity for their farms.

The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative was established in 1938 with funds from the Rural Electrification Administration.

1947

Eckols, Lewis B. Lewis Eckols began working for GVEC in 1947 and was manager of the electric operations division at Gonzales.

1958

Began working at GVEC in 1958.

1968

GVEC has served the AC/heating needs of South Central Texas since 1968, but our roots here run deeper.
