Leading and delivering municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities planning and design projects.

Required Qualifications:

The desired candidate will have experience in:
Serving Design Manager or Project Engineer with full technical responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of tasks for small or larger projects
Preparation of contract specifications and drawings
Planning, design and construction of new pipelines (pressure and gravity) ranging in diameters and material type including condition assessment and prioritization and rehabilitation of existing pipelines
Planning, design and construction of stormwater infrastructure and nature-based solutions for wet weather infrastructure including new and retrofitter stormwater basins, stream restorations, and wet weather conveyance infrastructure including culverts and pump stations
Hydraulic modeling including interpretation of modeling results to inform design of new pipelines or rehabilitation of existing pipelines
Pipe design calculations to determine pipe size, pressure class, external loads including trench design, pipe joint selection, etc.
Technical expertise in the layout and profiles of pipeline design in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Utility investigations and coordination to determine and resolve potential vertical and horizontal utility conflicts
Knowledge of subsurface and geotechnical engineering requirements
Field surveying project requirements
Sewer system evaluation surveys; inflow/infiltration studies
Development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, and data analysis
Office and field engineering support during construction
Qualifications/Skills Required:
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• 5 years of experience
• PE required with ability to obtain registration in other States
• Possess strong verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
• Effectively and proactively coordinate with various disciplines (Stormwater, Civil, etc.)

Hazen & Sawyer is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for our Baltimore, MD office. Candidate will provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects, serving as lead electrical engineer when required. Candidate will support projects both local to and regional to the office, as well as supporting projects in other areas as requested by the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
Power systems design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor controls, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities at water and wastewater facilities
Prepare project specifications and edit corporate electrical master specifications as needed to suit each project
Serve as the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects. Ensure the work is performed in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
Perform site visits as needed from project conceptual design through construction
Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project
Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project
Complete construction administration tasks including review of shop drawings, replies to requests for information, change order requests and similar tasks
Perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project
Monitor and participate in the field testing and start-up of electrical systems
Represent the electrical discipline in client project meetings
Interaction with clients, contractors, and engineers from other disciplines
Serve as a technical mentor for less experienced electrical staff
Assist in business development activities such as proposal preparation
Develop scope and fee documents for electrical portions of projects
Fill the role of Project Manager for selected electrical projects.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
5-14 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial electrical engineering and design
Licensed as a registered professional engineer in at least one U.S. state.
Ability to be licensed in additional states at the request of the firm
Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software
Experience in Microsoft Office products
Strong communication skills allowing for successful interaction with clients, contractors, and other engineers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Water/Wastewater industry
Experience with Bluebeam software and Bluebeam Studio
Experience with instrumentation and control systems including instruments, operator interfaces, and PLCs
