The Treatment Nurse follows the established nursing Care Plan and makes appropriate adjustments as resident care needs and/or physician orders change. Assists with the duties of the staff LPN or Certified Nursing Assistant when needed. Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care in residents. Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders. Performs evaluation using observation and inspection techniques. Confers with the Care Planning Team in the development of the Care Plan. Provides and documents treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol and monitors ongoing skin and wound treatments. Monitors the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this Facility. Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psycho social status of the resident. Qualifications: Education/Training: Graduate of an approved school of nursing; current nursing license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state. Experience in skin care preferred. Must have current CPR certification. Experience: Previous experience in a long term care setting preferred. Supervisory experience and organizational skills in a long term care setting preferred.
