Job Description The Technology Specialist I, installs, repairs, upgrades, calibrates, and troubleshoots current and future technology products. In addition, this position trains customers on all levels of survey infrastructure products and machine technology. Essential Functions: · Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission · Demonstrates technology products and recommends the best technology solutions for each customer application · Installs laser, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Universal Total Station (UTS) systems on all makes and models of heavy equipment and sets up correctional GPS sources, i.e., Base Stations, Internet Base Station Service (IBSS) or Virtual Reference Station (VRS) · Teaches customers and employees on effective utilization of the technology products to optimize productivity and monitor machine health to include, but not limited to; Laser systems, GPS systems, UTS system, Infrastructure, Survey Products, Site Calibrations, File Management, VisionLink, and Winflash · Coordinates with manager to develop product database that will assist in troubleshooting and works with other departments to ensure customer needs are met · Creates and initiates machine communications with back office for downloading/uploading of models and uploading of surface data information · Troubleshoots electrical systems, CAN and Ethernet networks, and hydraulic systems, documenting the process to increase understanding and efficiencies · Performs system testing with sample/live data and technology · Maintains and improves current technology · Verifies site calibrations using proper survey techniques and trouble-shoot using the same. If the site calibration is bad, can use rovers, robotic total stations, auto levels, and can run a level loop if necessary, to identify the problem · Works with various programs to include, but not limited to, MAS, SiSweb, ET, Business Center, Trimble Connected Community, Veda, and Trimble Store · Install, measure up, calibrate Earthworks platforms on all models and machine brands of supported machines with use of robotic total stations and survey products · Performs application calibrations, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution · Service Technician tests, diagnoses, repairs, and adjusts electronic and optical equipment to ensure that they are in the optimal working order. This position is a multidisciplinary role requiring operational understanding, and underlying methodologies for heavy civil site construction. · Utilizes Business Center software to update customer files, check for modeling errors and verify data · Works with other departments to ensure that customer's needs are met · Trains customers on CAT integrated technology products · Pulls and prepares inventory to complete tasks · Covers periodic rotations on the “SITECH Help Desk” where the technician must be able to help customers troubleshoot machine and off machine issues over the phone using their extensive technology knowledge. Must work through customer issues while mental visualizing what the customer is doing and explaining. Must maintaining patients and professionalism to help solve the customer issues. Essential Functions: Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Acts as the primary contact for internal customers as it pertains to Sales, Demos, Loaners, Heavy Rentals, and RPOs Assists, until able to manage, all logistics from order through delivery with transport, parts and service to meet customer requests; this could encompass order receiving, knowledgeable equipment sourcing, account set up, and delivery Assists, until able to manage, the life of rentals including contract management, insurance coverages, customer pricing, machine utilization, service requests, accurate invoicing and credits; requires multitasking through several platforms such as Irental, Monday.com, Vision Link, Straight Docs, DSI and DBS Ensures accurate process is followed for CAT Commercial in store credit card sales, authorizations and credits Schedules delivery and pick-up of inventory to maintain appropriate work tool stocking levels by transferring from supply hubs Serves as process owner of Product Health Loaners via Monday.com; responsibilities entails being the liaison with CAT support representatives, sales management and internal parts and service departments to ensure maximum reimbursement Issues and receives vendor purchase orders through CODA Responsible for answering incoming customer calls via RingCentral, inputting leads in Texada and transferring requests to other departments Maintains and supports the Retail Customer Experience program to include machine staging, signage and handling walk-in customer visits Serves as primary contact for all sales and rental asset prioritization through service departments via Monday.com; requires a strong ability to communicate and influence requests to support our customers equipment availability needs Requires regular and punctual employee attendance Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Performs other related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of construction equipment sales industry Knowledge of business accounting principles Excellent oral and written communication skills Effective utilization of organizational planning, self-management, analytical problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills Intermediate MS Office Excel and PowerPoint skills; Advanced MS Word skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs Ability to interact with tact and courtesy and maintain a professional manner Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required Up to one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel: Up to 5% travel maybe expected Physical Requirements: This position involves extended periods on their feet This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations Significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, and twisting Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work Work Environment: Regularly works indoors in environmentally controlled conditions Often assists in familiarizing customers with equipment and work tools outdoors on yards and in display areas Regularly works outdoors around moving mechanical parts May be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions Disclaimer: Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
