The earliest shift is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the latest shift 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The schedule includes a weekend and holiday rotation. **Job Summary:** Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and according to standard procedures, assists in transcription, storage, preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications. This entry-level pharmacy position is responsible for learning and assisting with non-sterile and /or sterile compounding, operating pharmacy automation systems, and maintaining accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Assists in the preparation of medication orders that may include transcription, workflow management, automation utilization, and medication readiness for non-sterile compounding, checking, dispensing, and delivery. + Distributes medications to designated areas and returns unused, discontinued, or damaged doses to the pharmacy. Properly utilizes automation to ensure medications are secured and in-date in their area of use. + Supports inventory management activities that include receipt, storage, security, and inspection. Ensures that inventory areas are clean, and that inventory is rotated, in-date and properly labeled. + Adheres to regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards. Completes all documentation and maintains records in compliance with standard procedures. Promotes a safe practice environment and reports safety events when they occur. + Provides excellent customer service to patients, other staff and ancillary departments and maintains high standards of confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned.
