About the Role
We are looking for a Supplier IndustrializationEngineer to join our team. This role focuses on ensuring that suppliers' manufacturing processes are optimized for the production of high-quality, cost-effective products. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to drive product and process improvements, manage supply chain issues, and ensure successful integration of new products into mass production.
What You'll Do
Supplier Process Development: Work directly with suppliers to assess, design, and optimize manufacturing processes to meet production requirements and quality standards. Ensure suppliers are capable of scaling production without compromising quality.
Supplier Qualification: Lead the supplier qualification process, including auditing manufacturing facilities, production processes, and quality standards, specifications, and timelines. Work with suppliers on PPAP documentation. Conduct PFMEA with suppliers
Root Cause Analysis: Identify issues and implement corrective actions locally with suppliers

What You'll Bring

You will drive reliability initiatives focused on data replication, encryption, backup and restore strategies, and robust failover mechanisms. Collaborating closely with storage engineers, you will help implement and maintain high-performance NVMe- and SSD-backed volumes that support large-scale AI compute clusters. Your responsibilities will also include supporting user-facing storage services with a focus on availability, performance tuning, and adherence to error budgets. You'll investigate and resolve storage-related incidents using deep telemetry, logs, and performance profiling, while also partnering with hardware and kernel teams to diagnose low-level I/O issues and optimize I/O paths, cache policies, and file systems. Additionally, you will contribute to the architecture of fault-tolerant, scalable storage backends tailored for AI-first cloud environments.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
5+ years of professional experience in SRE, systems, or storage engineering.
Hands-on experience with distributed storage systems (e.g., Ceph, GlusterFS, OpenEBS) and deep understanding of object, block, and file storage paradigms.
Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C.

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is primarily working indoors in a shop or office environment. The employee could be exposed to hazardous materials with proper personal protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and lighting is adequate. This is an Adjunct Faculty pool for teaching part-time in the Manufacturing and Engineering Technology department.

Principal Accountabilities:
The Fiber Optics Process & Product Engineer is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and oversight of fiber optic cable assembly processes within a manufacturing environment. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge of fiber optic systems, cable types, splicing and termination methods, and manufacturing quality standards. The Engineer will work closely with production teams to improve assembly techniques, ensure product quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and support the development of new fiber optic products.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop fiber optic cable assemblies and manufacturing processes.
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical drawings, process flows, work instructions, and BOMs.
Oversee fiber optic splicing, termination, testing, and inspection processes to ensure compliance with performance and quality standards.
Analyze and resolve technical issues related to fiber optic assemblies, materials, and manufacturing equipment.
Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams to improve yields, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
Develop and implement test protocols for fiber optic cables and assemblies, ensuring compliance with customer and industry specifications.
Train production staff on proper fiber optic handling, assembly, and safety procedures.
Evaluate and qualify new materials, components, and manufacturing technologies.
Ensure adherence to industry standards such as Telcordia, IEC, and relevant customer specifications.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and quality enhancement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Strong understanding of fiber optic principles, cable structures, splicing, connectorization, and testing methodologies.
Experience with fiber optic manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control practices.
Proficiency in reading and creating technical schematics, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
Solid problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Familiarity with industry standards for fiber optic components and assemblies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong cross-functional collaboration/project leadership skills.
