As part of the Deals team, you'll sit at the center of some of the biggest stories in business journalism, helping shape copy on transformative transactions that move global markets and capture the attention of Wall Street, corporate boardrooms, and beyond.
We'll trust you to:
Edit and refine stories on M&A, IPOs, private equity, venture capital, and other major deals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and Bloomberg's signature speed to make sure our scoops get out first and beat the competition.
Work closely with reporters and editors across teams and geographies to elevate our coverage.
Ensure copy adheres to Bloomberg style and maintains the highest standards of precision under deadline pressure.
Collaborate with colleagues to craft smart headlines and sharp leads that cut through the noise and draw in readers.
Find or write lead items for Bloomberg's daily deals newsletter.
Help guide reporters in honing their writing and story structure and handle sensitive sourcing for exclusives.
You'll need to have:
Exceptional editing, line-editing, and headline-writing skills with a proven ability to improve copy under tight deadlines.
Strong news judgment and familiarity with the world of corporate finance and deals.
A meticulous eye for detail, with an ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or weak phrasing quickly.

We'd love to see:
At least five years of financial journalism or editing experience.
Experience covering or editing dealmaking stories is a plus, but strong editors from other fast-paced financial news environments will also be considered.

The David Yurman Internship Program in New York City is a paid 9-week immersive experience designed for students and emerging professionals passionate about the luxury jewelry industry. This exclusive program offers interns the opportunity to work closely with expert teams across various departments. Interns will gain hands-on experience in crafting exquisite jewelry, understanding the intricacies of luxury branding, and learning the operational aspects of a world-renowned brand. About the Role:
The Byrdie/InStyle Intern will be able to work with two exciting brands within People Inc.'s Beauty & Style vertical. This internship offers aspiring writers hands-on experience producing high-traffic celebrity news while building skills in writing, SEO, and digital production. Working closely with editors, the editorial intern will gain experience pitching and executing original features, conducting interviews, and learning the inner workings of the beauty and fashion industry while becoming familiar with the team's brand voice, editorial tools, and workflows.
Internship Responsibilities will Include:
Support editorial production by developing familiarity with brand voice, style, and the content management system.
Write and build 1-3 news articles daily, while contributing to ongoing content updates and basic SEO research.
Conduct imagery research to support story development and visual needs.
Pitch ideas for features, franchises, and assigned content, contributing to editorial planning.
Assist social media teams with community management and research tasks, and participate in editorial meetings and brainstorms.'
About You:
A passion for beauty, fashion, and pop culture is preferred
Writing experience, preferably within the beauty and style space
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Pay Range
Hourly: New York: $20.00 - $20.00
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future.
