PRIMARY DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Residential Electrical Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential electrical installations, including the installation of generators, residential circuitry and service upgrades. Job Summary
Lineman Trainees are responsible for the construction, maintenance, and installation of high voltage transmission, catenary, and signal transmission systems.
Essential Functions
Duties include attaching appurtenances, relocate lines away from existing lines, shift poles requiring newfoundations, install anchors and foundations, shift under traffic, move poles with wires attached, splice existing appurtenances, and install new foundations and certain designated power lines and signal transmissionsystems.
Minimum Qualifications
* Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and a high school graduate or GED Equivalent.
* Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy physical labor.
* Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
* Applicants must have a valid driver's license on the date of hire.
* Must be able to obtain CDL license within 90 days of hire date.
* Applicants must be able to perform basic mathematical computations including fractions and decimals.
* Ability to pass required training with written exams including two weeks of safety training and required department training modules over a 24-month period to progress to qualified lineman.
* Must read, write, & speak the English language clearly and have the ability to communicate using telephone and radio.
Preferred Qualifications
* Basic climbing, rigging, and lineman experience is a plus.
* Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools.
* Electronic/electrical background or education is a plus.

Position Details
Being a 3rd Class Lineman or becoming a Groundman is the first step in starting your career as an electrical worker! You will work with the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical utility systems. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state, depending on customer demands.
You will concentrate on learning safety procedures, making up material, stocking trucks, and assisting other crew members. A desire to learn the skills of a Lineman is essential.
Requirements:
Provide assistance to the crew in completion of their duties
Learn the basic materials and equipment used in line construction
Learn about safety procedures and work area protection
Maintain cleanliness of the job site and equipment
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors

Physical Standards:
Required physical abilities to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger dexterity, grasp, and repetitive motions. Must be able to routinely lift objects under 10 pounds; occasionally lift objects from 10-25 pounds, infrequently lift objects from 25 - 30 pounds and infrequently lift objects over 50 pounds.
Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed outside and includes being exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, inclement weather, noise, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, darkness, and occasional poor lighting conditions.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
This position requires English speaking proficiency to ensure effective communication of safety instructions, technical information, and coordination with team members. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred.
General knowledge of electrical theory.
High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
Possess a commitment to working safely.
Must be willing to travel at any time, work overtime, and storm work.
Highly motivated self-starter with the desire to continue learning.

About this Role
Taylor's Construction is seeking motivated and safety-conscious Telecom Linemen to join our expanding telecommunications infrastructure crews. This role involves hands-on work with aerial fiber and copper cable installation, lashing, strand placement, and other core aspects of aerial telecom construction. Ideal candidates will have field experience and a solid understanding of telecom safety standards and job site productivity expectations.
What You'll Do
Install aerial telecommunications infrastructure including strand, fiber optic cable, coaxial cable, and associated hardware.
Perform lashing and over-lashing of fiber and copper cable on aerial plant.
Read and interpret utility locates, construction prints, and permit documents.
Set up safe work zones with appropriate signage, traffic, and pedestrian control.
Attach and secure hardware (e.g., terminals, closures, guy wire, anchors) to poles, cables, and structures.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, local codes, and safety regulations.
Conduct daily vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections and minor maintenance (greasing, oiling, etc.).
Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site safely.
Identify and address clearance issues before installation to maintain system integrity.
Participate in all required safety briefings and job hazard analysis meetings.
Maintain a clean and organized job site, including proper vehicle and tool cleanliness.
Remain available for occasional overtime, night work, weekends, or 24-hour on-call rotation as needed.
What You'll Bring
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in telecom construction or lineman work.
Basic knowledge of electricity, cabling, rigging, and safe climbing practices.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in all weather conditions.
Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain one.
Current DOT medical card or ability to pass DOT physical.
Familiarity with state/local clearance and right-of-way code, preferred
Prior experience with strand mapping, splicing prep, or small cell deployment, preferred
