Position Summary:
SRL is the national reference laboratory for Sonic Healthcare USA. As part of this esoteric testing lab, our staff gain new experiences with a unique test menu within a culture of quality and innovation, where we focus on lean processes fueled by a belief in empowered continuous improvement. The Molecular Technologist I is responsible for performing moderate and high complexity clinical sample testing within the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory. Performs daily laboratory testing and analyzes, reviews, and reports test results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs high complexity clinical assays according to written SOPs
Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to include quality control, quality assurance, and safety
Ensures specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing.
General laboratory operations: keeping a neat work area, attending meetings, and complying with laboratory procedures and safety practices
Analyzes reviews, and reports test and quality control results and takes remedial action when indicated
Enters and verifies data within the clinical LIMS system
Maintain analytical instruments, schedules authorized routine service, and maintains instrument documentation
Performs, enters, and maintains Quality Control assessments and data
General laboratory housekeeping, including the regular cleaning of sinks, counters, and equipment as appropriate
Creates and validates in-house control material and reagents
Completes other duties as assigned by lab management
Monitors laboratory data systems, conducts statistical metric analysis
Performs and documents reagent Quality Control verification
File documentation associated with daily production runs
Provides technical feedback to the Lab Supervisor regarding workflow issues
Make copies of relative forms used for production and validation
Documents laboratory inventory for assigned work areas
Perform other laboratory duties as required and assigned

Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements

It is not required to work in our lab, but if you were a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT), this experience and education would be a plus.
Ideally, you will have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers).

Summary:
The Catheterization Laboratory Technician II is an experienced member of the cath lab team, proficient in supporting a wide range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role involves meticulous preparation of the lab, equipment, and supplies, ensuring accurate patient documentation, and maintaining a stringent sterile technique throughout procedures. The Technician II also serves as a valuable resource and preceptor for junior technicians and technologists, sharing expertise in advanced procedures and technology while upholding the highest standards of patient safety and departmental efficiency.
Responsibilities:

Trains and completes competencies to set up and operate cath lab equipment including, but not limited to: imaging (intravascular ultrasound-IVUS, intracardiac echo-ICE), contrast injector, hemodynamic system, intra-aortic balloon pump, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, left ventricular assist device, etc.
Supports and anticipates the needs of the physician and ensures patient safety when scrubbing procedures; moves/pans table appropriately during fluoro and X-Ray acquisition.
Adheres to aseptic technique 100% of the time during procedures and stops the line if a break in sterile technique is identified.
Adheres to organizational policies and processes related to patient safety, patient privacy, infection control (hand hygiene), and patient communication before, during, and after procedure.
Collaborates with others on the team in sharing knowledge; to gain and provide appropriate knowledge as appropriate; to foster teamwork and team cohesion.
