The Supervisor II, Laboratory (Lab) (Auto-Chemistry) is responsible for supervision over multiple functions which may include: oversight of laboratory testing for core lab, monitoring the workflow from sample processing to departmental workflow through results reporting, and may provide for day-to-day guidance on teammate performance. This position evaluates and monitors compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality requirements. Position ensures adherence to corporate standard policies and procedures related to job performance, customer interactions, teammate relations, and information confidentiality. + Removes specimens from transport bags, enters patient data, labels samples and aliquots as needed for multiple testing.
+ Sorts samples for distribution throughout the lab (X-rays, Coggins, Cytology, etc.).
+ Scans tubes into storage racks and enters specimen data into database to verify the accuracy of information.
+ Accessions various specimens including but not limited to urine, whole blood and plasma, feces, and biopsies.
+ Checks all trash containers within the Specimen Processing department when assigned.
+ Assists other lab personnel with specimen storage.
+ Ensure Turn Around Times (TAT's) are met.
+ Reads, understands and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed.

Job Functions
Coordinates workflow through the department to ensure Hold times and turnaround times are met

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor for the evening/night shift to lead operations in our core laboratory with a strong emphasis on hematology and hematopathology. This role provides technical and operational oversight of hematology testing, including manual differentials, body fluid analysis, and support for hematopathology workflows, while also managing daily operations across chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and specimen processing. The person will also ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission). The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in hematology, with the ability to optimize workflows, troubleshoot complex cases, and mentor staff to ensure excellence in testing and interpretation. The areas supervised include Chemistry, Hematology and Processing/Phlebotomy.
Ensures the correct performance of tests in the assigned section, supervising staff performing these tests. Ensures that staff have been trained in procedures, including completion of technical training checklists. Reviews the performance of tests in the assigned section including review of daily test performance and reports as needed. Initiates corrective action as needed and performs any necessary follow-up. Communicates the results of these reviews as needed to the Administrative Director, Medical Director or other as appropriate.
