Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Ceramics Studio Lab Technician: Instruction and Classroom Support 1 SALARY: $1,357.2 - $1,423.2/month ($19.5 - $21.90/hr) for a 16 hour per week schedule The Art Department at Edmonds College seeks an experienced Ceramics Studio Lab Technician to support its ceramics program. This is a non-instructional, classified support role scheduled for 16 hours per week during each academic quarter.
The Lab Technician is responsible for assisting with the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the ceramics studio. The position functions under the direction of faculty, who lead the ceramics program, and works collaboratively with other staff to support instructional activities. A thorough understanding of ceramics studio procedures is essential to help ensure a safe, organized, and productive studio environment.
This is a Classified position that reports to the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Support the daily operations of the ceramics studio during the academic year in alignment with faculty-directed program needs.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and organized studio environment in collaboration with faculty and staff.
* Serve as the Ceramics Studio Safety Officer, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, coordinating with OSHA representatives, and assisting in updating the studio safety handbook.
* Maintain compliance with OSHA and HazMat handling guidelines per WA state and federal regulations.
* Report and document new chemicals for inclusion in the college-wide SDS database.
* Maintain studio cleanliness and ensure proper handling, storage, disposal, and recycling of materials and chemicals in accordance with college protocols. This will include cleaning equipment and wet-mopping the studio floor.
* Coordinate kiln firing schedules, and load and fire electric, gas, or other kilns, maintaining accurate logs and timelines in consultation with faculty.
* Safely mix and manage glaze materials, maintaining detailed records per faculty-established procedures.
* Maintain ceramics studio equipment in safe, clean, and functional condition; track inventory; and submit maintenance requests in collaboration with faculty.
* Recommend equipment repairs or purchases as needed.
* Prepare clay, glazes, and other materials in support of faculty-led instruction.
* Address and report studio-related concerns in a calm, professional manner, escalating to faculty or supervisors when appropriate.
* Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Availability for 16 hours per week during each academic quarter.
* Knowledge of ceramic lab practices, procedures, and equipment.
* Documented experience with ceramics studio equipment.
* Proficiency in loading and firing kilns and glaze mixing.
* Ability to perform the listed job responsibilities.
* Customer service-oriented.
* Strong verbal, listening, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Two or more years of ceramic studio support or management

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 50lbs. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a permanent part-time classified position for a 16-hour-per-week schedule, Fall through Summer quarter ( 41 weeks cyclical). Your weekly schedule will be based on class and open lab times each quarter.
COMPENSATION:
Salary is Range 39, $1,357.2 - $1,423.2/month for a 16 hour per week schedule, with progressive increases to $1,806.8. This position is not eligible for benefits. Paid PTO/Sick leave on an accrual basis.

Utilize LEAN principles to manage inventories of reagents, supplies, and other resources, to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

With the Laboratory Manager, CLIA Director, Vice President, and/or staff, establish departmental performance metrics and quality indicators. Communicate performance to the laboratory.

Ensure the integrity of written and electronic records generated by the department.
Coordinate laterally within Transfusion Services to ensure processes are optimized, resources are appropriately used, and quality practices are consistently applied.

Process unusual or complex service or information requests. Consult with laboratory leadership regarding these requests as applicable.
Coordinate special research and development projects.
Maintain software/electronic applications used for daily operations (Antigen Plus, maintain Macros, rare donor list, etc.).
Coordinate training of medical fellows during rotation and daily report review with the Medical Director and trainees.
As needed, assist the program director for the MT/MLT or SBB programs to provide lectures or practical training to students.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Must qualify as General Supervisor, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA personnel requirements found in Subpart M of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) is required. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is preferred.
A minimum of 55 years of laboratory technical experience,, with at least 22 years in immunohematology reference testing,, is required (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
A minimum of three years of laboratory supervisor or Lead experience is preferred.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) division is comprised of six departmental teams: The Office of the Vice President, Digital Media Services, Infrastructure, Integration, Technical Support Services, and Office of IT Business Operation. ITS supports all campus computing - both academic and administrative. The division manages networking and server components, performance and quality of all college websites, the web portal, software and application development, as well as data and administrative system support. Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.

The goal of the Lacy-Hulbert Lab is to understand how different aspects of the immune system cooperate to identify and combat potentially infectious organisms while preventing immune attack against innocuous microbes or the body's own self.
This position is up to 19 hours a week, within the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (exact schedule to be determined).
