PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE

Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform the duties as Clinical Laboratory Technologist 1. Under general direction, performs professional laboratory technologist duties in food and waterborne disease outbreak testing and potential bio-terrorism agents. Essential Functions
Under general supervision, performs analytical testing on clinical specimens for disease outbreak testing, infectious disease testing and potential bioterrorism agents and blood lead, reports results.
Performs experiments on specimens in order to detect the presence of organisms or conditions using fully automated, complex analyzers.
Provides assistance to other units.
Identifies methods and prepares clinical and environmental specimens for appropriate testing.
Performs and documents participation in the proficiency testing program.
Handles, sterilizes and disposes of infectious waste in accordance with the approved guidelines and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology from a recognized college or university; or a bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in one of the chemical, biological, or physical sciences, supplemented by one year's professional clinical laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year experience testing clinical microorganisms using molecular techniques, including PCR, for extraction, detection, and analysis of DNA and RNA.
One (1) year of experience using standard laboratory equipment such as biological safety cabinets, analytical balances, and centrifuges.
Thorough knowledge of performing quality control testing and the regulatory basis for maintaining a quality assurance program in an accredited laboratory.
One (1) year of experience performing standard laboratory techniques such as pipetting, streaking for isolation, use of a microscope, and running assays for microorganism identification.
One (1) year experience using laboratory related software programs such as a laboratory information management system.
Extensive knowledge of CLIA regulations for diagnostic testing in a high-complexity clinical testing laboratory.
One (1) year experience interpreting laboratory reports in a clinical diagnostic or public health laboratory.

The
Chemical Technician
plays a critical role in our engagement and customer longevity. It is responsible for ensuring maximum customer satisfaction, troubleshooting and resolving immediate issues, proactively addressing any potential issues and identifying areas of opportunity as it relates to the customer experience. The typical number of sites this role is responsible for is 50-75 sites per month.
What You'll Do:
Provide professional, expert solutions to all customers, to enable their business to be profitable and leave their customers satisfied with a clean, shiny, dry vehicle every time they use our products
Site Preventative Care & troubleshooting:
Titration of product as needed
Volumemetrics for product as needed
Minor chemical equipment/application repairs
Customer Satisfaction:
Responsible for site chemical conversions & installations, and keeping the customers informed of progress
Monitor customer levels and responsible for Chemical Inventory & replenishment orders placed at sites under responsibility
Maintain Wash Key Reporting - Service Report
Conduct NCS Site Surveys using the template
Support & execute on corporate accounts (CTC) per the protocols
Provide on-site revenue program training
Conduct Technical & Chemistry basic training with appropriate location personnel
Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer files (SF, Portal, Google & CTM) of customers and their issues
Analyze customer outputs, and make recommendations on technical updates or ways to increase efficiency and wash counts for the designated site.
Customer Expansion:
Identify areas of opportunity for our account, conduct an initial intake discussion and communicate to sales management

Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; or equivalent practical experience.
Car Wash experience is preferred but not required

The Gig:
The
Chemical Technician
plays a critical role in our engagement and customer longevity. It is responsible for ensuring maximum customer satisfaction, troubleshooting and resolving immediate issues, proactively addressing any potential issues and identifying areas of opportunity as it relates to the customer experience. The typical number of sites this role is responsible for is 50-75 sites per month.
What You'll Do:
Provide professional, expert solutions to all customers, to enable their business to be profitable and leave their customers satisfied with a clean, shiny, dry vehicle every time they use our products
Site Preventative Care & troubleshooting:
Titration of product as needed
Volumemetrics for product as needed
Minor chemical equipment/application repairs
Customer Satisfaction:
Responsible for site chemical conversions & installations, and keeping the customers informed of progress
Monitor customer levels and responsible for Chemical Inventory & replenishment orders placed at sites under responsibility
Maintain Wash Key Reporting - Service Report
Conduct NCS Site Surveys using the template
Support & execute on corporate accounts (CTC) per the protocols
Provide on-site revenue program training
Conduct Technical & Chemistry basic training with appropriate location personnel
Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer files (SF, Portal, Google & CTM) of customers and their issues
Analyze customer outputs, and make recommendations on technical updates or ways to increase efficiency and wash counts for the designated site.
Customer Expansion:
Identify areas of opportunity for our account, conduct an initial intake discussion and communicate to sales management
This individual is expected to comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, Local Regulatory Law, and company safety policies. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; or equivalent practical experience.
Car Wash experience is preferred but not required
Basic mechanical knowledge & aptitude
Ability to communicate internally and externally across all levels of the organization
Good microsoft office skills and basic knowledge of a computer
Demonstrated ability to provide the highest level of customer service and support.
Ability to function with minimal supervision and work in a team environment. Must be a self-starter and be extremely motivated.

Ability to support overnight travel up to 40% based on territory & customer needs

Frequent lifting and transport of materials weighing up to 50 pounds is necessary, along with extended periods of standing during laboratory tasks. The ability to distinguish subtle variations in color shades is essential for accurate analysis. This facility is the largest third-party food testing site in the United States, hosting state-of-the-art lab equipment.

We are looking for a Microbiology Technician - Pipeline in 2835 N Oak Grove, Springfield, MO 65803 USA. Your mission will be to:
Purpose (Objective):The incumbent prepares samples for processing and maintains documentation of process to facilitate testing procedures.
Main activities:
●Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending
●Write identification onto plates so that client and sample number can be tracked
●Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to the analysis process being performed
●Pour the agar into plates or tubes to begin the growth process
●Collect plates and place them in the incubator for the specified amount of time and temperature
●Prepare media and broth for use in pathogen testing as required
●Ensure that media and materials are prepared for the next testing sequence
●Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is required to complete job responsibilities
●Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis
●Read plates and tubes, as required, to determine the number of organisms in the sample
●Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process

YOUR PROFILE
This lab is open 7 days a week so looking for candidates who have weekend availability.
Shifts are typically mid morning-evening. Such as 9am-6pm, 10am-7pm or 11am-8pm
Possible schedules: Thursday-Monday, Sunday-Thursday, Tuesday-Saturday.
Knowledge: The incumbent must have a basic knowledge of microbiology to accurately perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
Profile (required education/qualifications and professional background): High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year relevant work; or, Associates degree required.
Required skills: Analytical skills are essential to complete analysis procedures and determine the concentration of the microorganism. A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to process client data. Physical dexterity is required for manipulating samples.
Work Environment: The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory. Safety equipment of gloves, laboratory coat and eyeglasses may need to be worn depending on the testing process. The incumbent may use the autoclave daily to complete the analysis process. Continuous lifting of analysis materials weighing up to 50 pounds are necessary to transport media materials. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a standing position. The incumbent should be able to detect slight variation in shades of colors.
